If that is the case I hope we don't overpay for any "star" that we bring in - picks, fine but not in salary.

Nothing disrupts team harmony like paying the new guy more than the guys who have bled and sacrificed for the club.

Tim Kelly is a great example.
And...no underpaying either.
If I hear "bargain" I want them reviewed.

so after so many years on here with us whinging about Pav replacements, we can honestly say we finally have a forward line again and it's a very good one with Treacy, Amiss, LJ, Bolton, Walters, Freddie, Sturt, and Swit.
And we'll have Murphy and Young serving the ball to them with precision.

Holy moly, these peanuts don’t know that a guy who’s been the All Australian ruck is tall? Serious Melbourne echo chamber vibes
Yeah, I wasted my time listening to that pointless fluff. Good job it was only a few mins long, I would have turned it off anyway. How disingenuous and disparaging could Watson be...?! Might as well just publicly admit you know nothing about Freo, the place or the club, and you don't care to. Because that's exactly the vibe you exhibited. Peanuts alright...

“Maaate, did you know there are football teams in Western Australia?!!”
“Mate! Who would’ve thought it!”

Been a massive fan of JT since the day we drafted him. Just love his attack on the footy.
Gee i hope he again excels this year - but he will be the hunted this year so will have to step up again, it wont just happen. A bit like for Amiss last year.

It's not going to be easy for the 2 kids but if they keep a level head, keep working and deal with the added attention, they have the potential to be a very significant force in terms of AFL forwards.

Wasn't there a local media guy a couple of years back who said he was lazy (with no evidence) and wasn't going to make it? Surely that's as bad a call as we've seen in recent times.
Pretty standard drivel from Gossage.

(Hi Tim I know you're lurking here somewhere)

This parasite doesn't deserve to be called by his first name.
What's the lowest form of life Gossage or Crumpet Face? I wonder if either have kids? If they do, I bet neither were asked by their kids to go to careers day at school.
Actually if you are reading Gossage the answer to the first question is Hagdorn. It must embarrassing being the second best troll in the WA media.

LOL I actually did go to school with Hagdorn's son. He was a more than decent full forward. Not sure I ever saw his old man at the careers expo now you mention it 🤔

At least Crumpet Face eventually had the decency to disappear off the face of the Earth.

Took a car accident I believe so hope he's doing okay even if I also hope to never hear/read his comments again.

Plenty here had their doubts about Treacy. You can only go on exposed form and he dropped a lot of marks early and couldn't translate his booming straight set shot kick from the WAFL to the big time.
There were also doubts about whether he'd ever be able to get enough of the ball.

I saw him play in the WAFL and sink those kicks he makes look regulation now. I commented a few times that it was all between the ears for him (as it is to some degree for all players) but not everyone is Dustin Martin. Some pretty fine players over the journey could never get out of their own heads (Nick Riewoldt anyone?). Evern the great man Pav was not exactly clutch at times and we've all seen what pressure has done to Fyfe. Amiss had a some serious 3rd year yips this year.

I don't know that I ever gave up on Treacy but I was certainly doubtful at times. I do remember a few here saying he'd never make it as an AFL player.

Treacy went from being a poor mark to a very reliable mark over the past off season. He improved greatly during 2024 in every facet of his game.
He obviously works hard and believes in himself.

Sure. My point was simply that he was demonstrating his ability at the lower level but had trouble under the pressure of the big time. It took him several years to be able to reliably bring his belief to the highest level.

Some people are quick to judge players in their first few years at the pressure of the highest level without taking into consideration how much the mental side of the game affects how players are able to execute their skills.

But Garys alright...right?
They love to spot a Superstar before their mates, and rub it in later!
He was already doing it with Serong.

Yeah but...God save the hunters!
JT is one of those rare beasts who terrify their would be tormentors!
A bit like Amiss, but not the same. Amiss is going to embarrass you not maim you.
No one likes to get hurt and with JT someone is gonna get hurt.
