No.Can anyone help me translate Hazelnuts posts? Cheers.
Have been watching the unfolding adventure of LH for a while now.
Not sure whether to put this in the list management thread or here. I'll make it here as this is where the matter was last brought up.
Be clear, Acres was never going to stay at Fremantle after his contract was finished. He was either going back to Melbourne or stop playing, hence the low ball offer. From an impeccable source.
Don't pin this one on the management.
Well young SkyWalker…
I wanted so bad to be Luke Skywalker as a kid.Well young SkyWalker…
A long time ago in a nightclub close but faraway.
Club Bayview - that’s all that can be said.I wanted so bad to be Luke Skywalker as a kid.

There’s history there bruz….not mooditj
We are paying JOM more than Acres, and offered him a longer contract. I’d sack the list manager for that stupid decision.
No we aren't. The hawks are.
"Sources confirmed the Hawks would pay about $500,000 of O’Meara’s salary next year and about $250,000 of Mitchell’s."
Hawks will pay traded stars O’Meara, Mitchell $750,000 in 2023
Hawthorn will pay about $750,000 next year for the salaries of traded veterans Tom Mitchell and Jaeger O’Meara, who will be playing at other clubs.www.theage.com.au
After this year, we will be paying more of the share, but I don't think we know what his base salary is. I can't imagine it's far off what Blacres is making at the Blues.
Part of it makes me kind of sad, the start of the thread is celebration, thinking we've found our successor to Walters, that we had someone to potentially build the club around for the future......and we bring ourselves to now......it's all gone just like that.I love that this thread is now 'Autopsy'!
Y'all dreaming
We won't be getting a second rounder for him. We have no hand. Third round is likely.
My kids (teenagers) aren't fans to put it mildlyThere's a bit more to this that's not public knowledge. I know it sucks, but the bloke has his reasons - which I'm not surprised he's not sharing.
Can someone at least give us an idea of why he's leaving instead of being all cryptic?
He has no dawg in him so he's running from the grind.go on folks, pony up with your speculation as to why hes leaving.
I don't wish any harm on Liam and I acknowledge he is a young adult, however he is an adult nonetheless and is making adult decisions about his career. It would be disingenuous (after all the time and effort the club invested) for me to wish him well for his footy (not personal) future. I hope he plays in a very poor team for the rest of his career and he deserves everything he gets from the Freo faithful upon his return to Optus.Really disappointing decision (there's that word again), but I implore everyone to temper their reactions to Liam as a person.
Poor Liam will be in the fetal position after he plays against us at Optus....not sure he will be able to recover after the deserved public roasting he will receive.I have heard Henry wanted a fresh start due to the constant derogatory comments by freo fans.
I can't blame him tbh. Social media has been disgusting.
When it comes to your own clubs players I firmly believe in roasting privately. When I hear attacks etc by our own fans against our own players at games, or see all the hate written over social media, it annoys the hell out of me.
AFL is a confidence game.
On that though I don't believe Henry is a big loss. Really hoping we can get Brockman out of it despite the rumours of him to eagles.
see finally my economics degree comes in handy.I’ll back the club in with this one. Henry’s offer would have been 400-450k and should have been full of performance based clauses which is probably overs for a player who has played a handful of decent games. Colon would have told him there’s a better deal somewhere else so Liam’s taken the gamble. It’s not about the football it’s about the money.

i should have posted this in the colin young threadsee finally my economics degree comes in handy.
essentially the afl world operates in a minopsony labour market.

they are drafted to a location. essentially granting the club a monopoly, with competition for spots allowing multiple sellers for labour. however as soon as you step foot into the world of trading you get the more competative price model. thus, any player can find at least one suitor with a higher wage offer.

in other words if your an in demand player, people will pony up for you.
Why does it matter? Can someone at least give us an idea of why he's leaving instead of being all cryptic?
