I was trying to work out whether that first goal was planned or pure instinct?

Either way, it's top notch.

He's either extremely intelligent and able to think through how the game is played and recalibrate his decision making, if necessary.

Or, has an extreme ability to react instantly and decisively to what's in front of him...elite football instincts.

He may have both, who knows this early.

Unreal how easy he makes it all look. The best description i have is he plays the game like he has the angle of the TV camera. It's really easy to watch and scream for things for the player to do but when you are under AFL pressure and everything is a blur, it's a lot ****ing harder.

How about winning the ball from poor position against two Weagles on the flank before Sharp inevitably ****s it up. Ive never seen the gulf in players shown so perfectly in one play before.

There was at least twice he was in 3v1s that he didn’t lose, one of which he won and I think we got a shot on goal from.

I honestly thought he was no chance of playing this early, but he is already our second best kick inside 50.

Sides will start locking him down soon, trying to stop him being the link man.

Comparing reid's footy iq and skill execution to Sharp/Worner/Erasmus/Johnson is like comparing a rolls royce to a hyundai excel.

While poor Freo got the consolation prize in Murphy Reid

Your supporters couldn’t shut up about how smart your club and port were for doing that deal

If the ball is loose near him he hardly ever loses a contest no matter how much he's outnumbered. Just pure class from him.

Yep it’s his footyIQ plus composure plus skill that makes him such a friggin gun.

Of course his pace will stop him from being really good tho ….
