Wouldn’t he be a bit short to play FB in todays game as alot of Forwards are over 197/198 I like the idea but.
May is 194 but built like a tank. Weitering 196 also built like a tank. It's not about height once your the 6ft 5 range. It's strength in the contest and a decent amount of agility or speed. Both McCabe and Skaife are tall enough and in Scaife's case plenty big enough.

Confirmed ACL needs a reco done for this season and most of next .
yep it may have been what got in Jasper's head a bit in the Box Hill match yesterday - maybe subconsciously tried a bit hard and sprayed several shots on goal early .... after all Sammy said when he was drafted that they were after someone who could go straightaway so with Calsher and now Mitch down .... his turn in seniors may not be too far away.

That's 2cm .....would that really make it or break it height wise ??????

When your 195 and most of the key are taller yep.

As not only your 2 cm taller but your reach at it’s highest point is also higher making it easier to mark the ball at full Stretch over your opponent.

Why do you think a 200cm ruckman wins more hit outs against a 198 ruckman.

What if your 198 cm but your leap is higher and you have a bigger/longer wingspan than the 200cm ruck .........still go with the 200cm ruck because he is 2cm taller ?

Cannons for legs, would love him to be our 50m specialist goal kicker would do a number on teams
I've always thought the way teams get back and defensively flood the forward 50s these days having a key forward who can lead and take marks outside the 50m mark and bang through some long goals would be a good way to combat that flooding.

Such a strong lower body, built like the proverbial outhouse!

I was going to ask if he is AFL ready but he is probably more advanced than Calsher is.
It will be interesting to see which way the club goes at selection.

Calsher has shown he understands the nuances of our game plan, would be more a question of how his young body is coping in a professional sporting environment.
I am interested in how clubs communicate these things to ensure a kid is still motivated and not perceiving the feedback as negative.

Sorry to go full grumbleguts on you guys, but ... When you're 198 cm ...

Really great performance. Lots to work with. May become good friends with Wiz at training.
Don’t want to dampen the mood around here but it wasn’t a really great performance. There was plenty of promise but also a number of decisions he would want again. I’m keen to see him after a preseason as I think he might be able to have a Meek like body transformation. At present he’s a bit heavy and I think he could be a big improver if a lot fitter.

It doesn't look like he is carrying puppy fat like Hawkins was in his early days, he looks like a ball of muscle TBH. His skin folds would be pretty low.

Id prefer to keep him on the heavier side of the scale, I feel like having that extra size helps with durability.

That's one of the things I noticed when we played the Cats in the weekend, their players just looked "bigger" than ours and they bullied us around the ground.

Not unlike Dear, who still has a lot to work on, I just wanna see Scaife have a go and do some nice things that contribute to the team and give us hope for his future.

Hes a rookie barely more than a month at the club. Expectations are low.
