“When we arrived at the hotel, we were called into the team room for a meeting”. As soon as the players sat, Bolton began.
“‘I’d like any player who ate one of the biscuits offered to them on the plane to stand up’. Now at this point I’m thinking, is this a joke? Surely it’s a joke. But his tone was serious. Players started to stand up. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Mostly I couldn’t believe that I wasn’t one of the ones forced to stand up. It wasn’t like me to miss the opportunity of a biscuit.
Remeber Yze making the players stand in a cringe way at the B&F.
I wonder if Yze has done these types of things at the club. it's giving serious Bolton vibes.

Bnf night was awkward especially with key players leaving us.

Comes across as a softy & does a lot of cringe things, we don't know what goes behind closed doors though.
Just goes to show u have an agenda before u even open your gob , didnt a draftee recently cite kingsley and Goodwin as being full on and intense , ooze didn’t rate a mention , doesnt kinda fit with your bs does it

Not sure what you mean by agenda, but after seeing the way he got the team performing in 2024... I would say I'm an Adem Yze critic
All the talk in the presser, camel, the heat training all was bad.
Yze legit said we could be a top 4 team & he was not going to put a ceiling on it, no one was buying it other than him.
I’m bitterly disappointed with the year but he had precious little to work with , with 16+ injured for much of the year , I’ve said countless times , better equipped clubs than us struggled to cope with the slightest peak in injuries , refer blues and freo late in year . Hopefully with a better un with health of our list I expect us to be competitive, how many in’s that amounts to , not sure . I think in 12m time we ll have a better idea how ooze is placed guiding this list

I prefer honesty, everyone could see we weren't a top 4 team & were on the way down.
I would prefer a coach to say we have a lot work to do to get back to where we want.
Not say "I want the players to believe we can make the top 4 next year" ... Well they didn't believe did they.
that just sets you up for failure, I think the decisions lately have been taken out of Yze hands and the club knows exactly where they are regardless if Yze makes it past his contract expire date.
The clubs knows we need a good rebuild. that's why I believe they were happy to trade Bolton & Rioli.

or maybe the players were a bunch of bitch ass sooks and he told them to stand up and own how shit they were this year??? The B&F was always going to be awkward as it was the worst season in our history and the players were responsible.
Unfair on the players. Forgetting the lamentable state of rehabilitation and general coaching I think
I thought it was just lame. Like he just thought of it on the spot. Like his coaching responses this year or lack of it

I think yze needs to be more like trump. Whether you like trump or not isn’t the point …. The point is he has a very loyal fan base who look up to him and would practically do anything for him. We didn’t see that from our players this year so yze has to work on his message and/or his personal actions to get the players to perform for him

The one thing you need to be as a coach is a good communicater. You need to be able to get your message across in a manner where the players just believe everything you're saying is the way and the only way. I just don't think he has that ability. Poor appointment in my book.
Needs to get past the umms. Makes him seem unsure and not concise. Communication is everything.
Hopefully a year of experience in front of a camera has helped with that.

Blair and the greater list management/recruiting team have done their part. Now the onus is on Yze to build an attractive, competitive and identifiable game style that will eventually take us to another premiership.
I said from the very start that I'm going to reserve my overall judgement on his coaching ability until the end of year three.
He had a baptism of fire in his first year where he was forced to use essentially every player on the list due to horrible injury management.
History is not on his side as no rebuild coach typically sticks around to see the fruits of the foundation that they have built. Sam Mitchell could be a sign of that changing though.
I hope he shows us that we made the right choice. Win/loss record means nothing in season 2025. All I need to see is an identity where I can simply say "That's Richmond footy".

Reading above about Boltons year at Carlton at least they had the balls to admit they got it wrong and gave him the boot as we will hold on to this spud for his 3 years.
