Is anyone worried by him being in the driver's seat at the dee's and going out in straight sets with forward entry being a real problem?
I think there's a few ways to look at it. First of all the Dees were in the top 3 teams this year along with Collingwood and Brisbane ( they were better than port imo ) at the end of the day it was their lack of goal kicking that cost them. Their forward line really relied on one natural fwd in Fritsch who isnt even a key fwd and was injured for a large chunk of the tail end of the season. People talk about their ball movement and the bombing inside 50 in the finals but they actually had more shots at goal and just didnt convert. Slightly better conversion and they'd be in a prelim considering they lost both games by under a goal.

We aren't that much better placed with our goal kicking efficiency, not this year at least, with bolton butchering them and even dusty not being anywhere near his goalkicking best... but with Lynch back and hopefully another tall fwd in Kosi, I think we can get back to our best with a really strong structure which we have missed so much this year. Its only last year we were one of the best offensive teams in the league dont forget.

One thing Yze will bring is fantastic defensive structure and strategy and that is where our game has really gone to water. Of course there's been the decline of pretty much every player in our back 6, but I think Yze will be able to get the best out of them.

I don't expect a flag in the next few years tbh, I just dont think our list is there. I think we will make finals though and who knows, maybe with a few big recruits we might be able to have a crack at the big dance.

Regarding the kids, he will keen to see who has it and who doesn't asap.
That is what I'm probably most excited about heading into next year, just seeing who can take their opportunity and run with it. There are some young kids who aren't rated that highly by some of our supporters, who may just surprise especially if given that clearly defined role that allows them to settle and understand exactly what is required from them.

He was in the drivers seat at the Dees? Why?

he mentioned why in the interview, can't remember the words to paraphrase but something along the lines of the only changes that you could make on game day that mattered were related to his current(at the time) coaching role, so i assume that meant goodwin figured he would get more out of his role as head coach by getting around the players on the bench and coaching from there

Off topic but John O'Rourke is pretty uninspiring. As long as he gets the job done it doesn't matter, but he's so vanilla.
Vanilla is good for a board. You wanted level-headed people without egos in those roles imo.

i feel a good vibe from what he said as i said earlier in the week. Jack Graham, kmac and pickett will be no walk up starts they will have to earn their spot and i really think yze would'nt hesitate in dropping out of form players i think he has a bit of a hard edge to him
