Peter Rhode is an absolute idiot. If true, this doesn't help either of our clubs.

Still reckon he should have been moved on and not Primus - no idea how he survived

anyway, discussion for another thread.

Only merit I can see in stalling is if they are hoping to get a better pick from us in any trade with Jacobs/Thomas

I don't. They're well entitled to their three days, that's why the Free Agency system says three days and not two or fifteen. We've waited over 30 years for another premiership, you can wait 3 days. Stop acting so spoilt.

Three days, whatever.

But not to submit the papers until the exact last minute of the third day is bloody idiotic.

Paints Port in such a terrible light. Shows they can't even make a damn decision, they're probably running around like headless Chooks.

Funny thing is, if they did make the decision and are making Richmond wait til the last minute, it shows their business is run on emotion, that's also the wrong way to go about it.

Rumours are Port will match the offer. Making us trade for him.

I would be astonished if we didnt have a contingency plan for this scenario if it were to take place. Their were a couple of players who i was surprised were not delisted, maybe this was the thinking as they could be passed off if a trade had to take place.

As for schulz, we were trying to offload him for ages. So I don't really think we have 'given' port anything.

No we werent. Port were interested in Sarge in 07, 08 and 09. In 09 they finally got him at a bargain price. If we had wanted to offload him we would have done it when they offered pick 28 in 2007

found this in the from the perth sunday times:

"Chaplin, who has played 140 matches for Port since his debut in 2004, is understood to have received a four-year deal from the Tigers.

Port is even less likely to match Richmond's offer, citing the key defender's recent knee surgery as a major factor in deciding whether to offer the 26-year-old a long-term deal.

"We're well aware of his knee situation so if someone offers him a long-term contract elsewhere we'll just have to weigh it up," Rohde said.

"They (recent injuries) are obviously the things you have to consider when you do long-term contracts."

I'd do Mel...

You can understand Port sticking on this and trying to keep him, can't let player after player just stroll out the door.
