I like the colour scheme, but big thumbs down on the LHS navbar.

Still too much content on the page. Anything less than 50% ads is a half-arsed effort IMO. Even after this latest change you are still at about 35% ads, which isn't nearly enough to fully capitalise on accidental click-through advertising dollars.

I hate it.

Granted, I don't take too well to change, but it feels so much more generic. Bigfooty also had a unique and distinctive colour scheme; now it looks like one of the multitude of phpbulletin forums created by some pasty 15 year old for some reason or other.

Change the colour scheme and I don't mind it, sidebar and all, but this colour scheme really feels generic.

The old skin will be retired. We've left it there for people to compare the two and find any old features that they want in the new one.

WHY?! Just keep it.

BTW, I can't post through the WYSIWYG interface in the new skin.

I thought we already went down this road before and everybody hated it. I will remain calm and hold my breath until you change it back.

There's still some pretty basic errors with the new skin:

Geelong board still has the old skin
Impossible to read the time last visited near the top of the page
There's an annoying navigation bar on the left*

*May not be an error, just poor judgment.

Seeing as though the "old layout" is there only temporarily, I reserve my right to whinge.

I'm not opposed to change, but a few suggestions:

• The colour scheme makes it look like a stock-standard, 100 member forum. BigFooty's better than that - it should have its own trademark colour scheme
• Seeing as how the sidebar doesn't move, it should be at the top, so as not to cramp the rest of the page.
• If the change is about ads (as it may well be - and you have every right to make a buck out of the site), as was suggested in another thread here a while ago, why not have every 10th page one clicks on a whole page ad? That annoys the user 10% of the time, instead of 100% of the time with the cramped screen. Arguably, your sponsors get more advertising as well.
• Please leave the old skin as an option.

This site now officialy has more ads than a channel 7 afl game. 5 Ads a page (technically 9 if you count the 5 ads in the one google box.

My Bigfooty > Edit Options > Miscellaneous Options > Message Editor Interface

This is why we have it running in parallel with the previous version. To find the errors and fix them.

Just had a look at the site in IE . I can see why the Nav Bar doesn't go all the way down the page 5 second loading times on some of the pages.

Your contrast is probably set too high. The only white is the border, post content and the breadcrumbs box.

Edit: And in the forum list. Possibly a point there.
