Well that was embarassing, but...

... not wishing to make excuses but if you'd have offered us a 6 goal loss to Collingwood in Melbourne with Stinger, Hart, Lads and Stevo out of the side and x-amount of players stricken with viral ailments at the start of the season you'd have taken it.

Having said that, we were woeful. If the Pies had've kicked straight we would've gone down by close to 100... and quite simply our pants got pulled down and Collingwood had its way with us.

The only positive to take from tonight is we do have 4 first teamers to come back, and Collingwood couldn't put us away like we all expected they would after that third quarter blitzkrieg. Furthermore - the Pies won't play much better than that in September when we may just meet them again... they've shown their best hand and it was no better than 2 pair or three-of-a-kind. Us on the other hand, surely have a full house or 4 aces if we can get our best on the park.

Well then, a fine bourbon and beer night up in smoke... it's time to re-heat the Toni Pepperoni and have another Pale.

Let Joffa and his army gloat. It's Round 20...

WE'LL BE BACK.

No I agree ok.Crows... At certain stages we had no answers, and didn't even look like sneaking a peek at the textbook that held them.

But... there is improvement there. That was our worst performance of the season and the end result is a 6-goal loss to a fellow Premiership threat on their home ground with a host of players out or running below 100%.

There's light at the end of the tunnel. At Vicky Park their pumping each other up and patting themselves on the back - it's round 20 - the show's far from over yet.

No excuses. We don't want anyone to think that there might be a better performance in the Crows somewhere. We want to wallow in absolute obscurity & be totally dismissed by absolutely everybody for the next 6 weeks running after that showing.

Which we will be - we'll already see the propaganda machine run into overdrive pumping the Pies up. The key is to remain behind the lads for the remainder of the season whatever it brings - we've finally become a side to fear whenever and wherever we step over the white line - and I'm loving it.

Tonight was a blip and a wakeup call. Hopefully Gaz and the boys answer it and get on with business. ;)

Well, no surprises in the end, it all went to script, competitive first half before being blown away in the second by a rampant Collingwood outfit. It was never in any doubt really, was always going to happen.

However, I'm never been more confident about the team, this thumping loss on the big stage, Friday night footy in front of a big crowd in Melbourne was the best thing that could possibly have happened to us.

Despite the pitiful way we played and the supreme football the Pies displayed, I feel incredibly positive about the rest of the year.

Something special is brewing people.......let's collect ourselves again for these last two weeks then bring on the finals.

That's because the Adelaide media exaggerated the whole thing. Small town syndrome.

Rubbish.

Credit where it's due.

I saw Begley yesterday and he looked like a dead man walking. I thought there was no way he could play tonight.

He showed great courage tonight as did Johncock and Goodwin who both had breathing problems yesterday.

Stupidity for them playing me thinks.......

Dyertribe what r u talking about.......we HAVE your measure.......finals or NO finals......just admit it......

Then you will "breathe" easier.......haha

Lead story in The Age and Herald Sun sport sections - not often the non-Victorian sides manage that. My initial thought was paper talk, but the Crows did look flat whilst Collingwood played well and should have won by more.

All the ingredients before this match pointed to a Collingwood win. The Crows will live to play another day.

Joel if you actually saw Begley at training on Thursday you would have said there is no way he would play on Friday. He really looked sick and belonged in bed on on the training track. I was genuinely surprised that he didn't drop out besause he definetly looked buggered on Thursday.
