I think you're confusing Chipmunks for Squirrels. Squirrels become rabid at a certain point, Chipmunks don't. I've heard stories of people that have raised squirrels that they are the most pleasant pet, until they become their equivalent of adolescence at which they become vile. Chipmunks stay pleasant forever.
