blown away that Pykey was chosen...but from what some are saying hes a very talented man. Good on WC for going in a totally new direction, with all new ideas. Theres nothing wrong with that at all. Brave. Well done WC board.

Pyle is a massive improvement on Walsh. Chatting to one of the players a couple of weeks back they were over the moon that Walsh had left/been tapped on the shoulder. Woosh had left all tactics, especially game day moves in his hands and the players had become very disenchanted with the situation. I guess that was showing by the end of the season.

Pyke..hmm..i liked him as a player,he seemed calm and measured in the heat of battle..doesnt seem to have had much or prolonged coaching experience or recent footy experience, but you would hope he has something going for him,i mean they didnt just throw a dart at a board and say "oh look it stuck on don pyke,he's our man!?"
i'm not keen on voss..he was sacked, i could be wrong, but doesnt that tell you something? he needs to learn more craft as an assistant coach, but not with us..although we nearly had him before..i guess he's learnt some stuff, with experience to be an assistant coach,ok i'm confused..however Dean Laidley would be a good score, except it would really look like a north melb.takeover, which is pretty ironic given this sites passion for sending up the amazing Scott brother..

Do you want to make a bet that's exactly what they did as there arnt many good candidates left this time of year.

We're known to have a brilliant ruck combo and also known to be piss poor at getting the ball out - a stoppages coach will improve this outta sight. Pykey will be brilliant for Hutchy - watch his improvement next year. Might also get Priddis up to a new level.

Pyke was super highly regarded after his time at Adelaide. We tried hard to get him after his time there but he went into business. He is clearly extremely astute both in football terms and in business. I am very pleased with the appointment. It is most definitely not just a case of bringing back a past player, Pyke is a great get.

Good luck for next year Hutch.

The players had left the task of being professional...and giving 110% to someone else...thats what one of the assistants i spoke to about a third of the way through the season said....at that stage the coaching panel was dissenchanted with their shit crew of players:)

Why is it that out of the blue people are saying Pyke is a gun assistant...i mean...when he was at the Crows did they win the flag??.
Imo...and its only mine....why pump up assistants that hard...if they were superstars they wouldnt be assistants..surely. It will be great if Don is a revelation...but at ground zero hes done SFA.

Incoming players and coaches = the best in the business, outgoing players and coaches = hacks. That's how BigFooty operates.

I've been uninspired with West Coast's moves this season, especially the movement of Vozzo to a position of huge importance. That said, they've got a 2 year grace period to start forming the list and shaping football operations in their image. After that, it's time to reassess.

Exaggerate much?
The outgoing players were done and Woosh just lost the confidence of the players.
While the new changes will not guarantee immediate success they are step in the right direction.
