I went out to the huddle at quarter time and Williams looked pretty much the same height as Jamieson. Would be every bit of 198cm and possibly a bit more.

More importantly, is McGovern taller than them?

Yeah waterman is very effective when playing predominantly in the forward 50 at wafl level.
I think he'd do pretty well at afl level too but generally its the land of the giants down there already so he plays further up the ground

H's looked good on the lead into space on occassion. Just have a feeling he's better close to goal, leading from the square rather than pushing up the ground.

I know he's no gorilla but not all full forwards are.

No. Prime Jack Darling could but now he is struggling to and Jake just doesn’t have the weapons like JD used to have.

Jake could thrive playing as that third tall close to home like a Gunston has but our forwards these days hardly get a proper look in

I`m not so sure now the game has evolved since he was drafted , I think he lacks height and is a little slow off the mark ..

He's not tall and he's not a pygmy gorilla like Darling. So probably not

For a kid, thought he was pretty impressive. Seemed to play a few different roles and spent some time down back. Showed some real courage and didn't shirk the contest. One to keep an eye on throughout the season.

Yeah he is, but lightly built. Moves well at stoppages and good by hand. Kicking on the run was his weakness.

I watched the highlights package.

The Beagles managed to choke and lose but crikey... They looked a million times better than the league side.

Overlap run, blocking, tackling intensity. Snake dobbing 'em from outside 50.

Just a totally different level of energy brought to the match, irrespective of the raw talent available.

Nah, they’re just changing it so players that haven’t played AFL can’t nominate their salary in the mid-season draft, after Jai Newcombe did that to dissuade anyone but Hawthorn from picking him.

Really, that's bloody harsh to kids who are 18/19 and missed out on being drafted year prior. Last year there was 3-4 talls that went in MSD as had developed late.
