Frankston is a Cultural Wasteland.

Think the combination of worst parts of Armadale and Rockingham and then you are getting the picture.

Frankston: Home of check shirts, mullets, moccasins, and a well populated witness protection program.

It’s a bit of a blight on the Mornington Peninsula.

Best part of Frankston is the ring Road that skirts around the town, as you head on down to Sorrento.

10-15 years ago you are spot on... It's actually come a long way. The council has spent a lot of money enticing businesses into the area, a lot of new restaurants/bars have opened and whilst the subculture still exists it appears to be on the out. The Dolphins facilities are good now too, new grandstand and player facilities. I still think St Kilda should have made it their training base rather than setting up in the back stalls of Seaford in an industrial estate.

On the upside, the only rail station in Melbourne where heroin deals take place openly on the platform.

Well that's one creative way around the soft cap constraints

Franga isn't that bad these days and there's nothing wrong with a bit of a mullet. If only I wasn't follicly challenged ...

Fair enough.
It’s about 10-15 years since I lived in Melbourne, so I can understand that it may well have changed.

Was always a nice part of Coast Line that was just begging to be tarted up.
Just needed to be able to move the flotsam and jetsam on.

The Mornington Peninsula, particularly on the western side, is a lovely neck of the world.

Hey!!! Ease up on Nollamara....I grew up there when it was still surrounded by bush.

How many people did you know with polio?

Stop talking about shit Vic suburbs please.

Centre the chat around Midland, Armadale, Rockingham and Nollamara or piss off.

Armadale in Victoria is actually a pretty exclusive and leafy suburb.

Yes, it took me a while to work that out the first time I worked in Melbourne.

That people: 1) knew of Armadale; 2) thought it was a really nice place.

Explains why they were so surprised then when I told them Armadale is full of drugs and crime.
