She destroyed everyone in the Medleys vs Woomeras U16 game a few months back. I saw the live feed (AFLW geniuses don't make replays available) it was like watching an adult vs kids, 3 goals, obvious BOG, she was dominating everywhere from goalsquare to center to wing. So Blizard and Fotu are better than any other tall juniors I've seen, and by a margin... but then Olivia Wolmarans might be better than both of them. It's crazy.

Can hit targets too, I agree. Probably can't hold a spot once we get Wakfer and Cleaver, but would be depth at least.

got to hope we get to wax the WA talent with Freo when we start to see the elite WA athletes in numbers coming through

The AFLW plan is a full time competition by 2026. I doubt that'll include enough money for draft picks to make it a national draft. It would suck to just get the WA talent production humming and immediately lose exclusivity. Either way I think there'll be a lot of Eastern States talent scouts crossing the Nullabor in the next few years, Eagles and Dockers will quickly be struggling to fit them all in.
And we get to get to draft some high end SA and QLD talent coming through

SA especially

Footy factory in womens footy at the moment

No reason why we cant become the same in five years time.

I was blown away with the number of young girls ( 12 -15 ish ) and their parents who came to watch the WAFLW GF.

Good signs for the groundswell of support for the competition. :thumbsu:

The report was the R1 game v PA will be in Perth btw.

And somebody on this board ought to be saying it: Erin Phillips' win-loss record ain't so hot when she isn't playing alongside that chick from WA (though Adelaide were admittedly much more well-rounded this past season than all previous years).

Point is, despite all the recent departures, West Coast's list is still clearly stronger than Port's, assuming no extra injuries.

Houghton scares me at least as much as Phillips TBH. While we should have the better list we'd hope not to have a down day in the midfield and to be well on top of I50s cause if they do keep Phillips forward and those two get fired up for the club's first game you'd think they'd be pretty efficient once it was in there.

I think all things considered that’s a pretty good draw.
We play three of the new teams.
We play four middle table teams.
We play three of the better teams.

IMO how we fare against the new teams will determine how far off the bottom we finish.

Hoping for these results:

Games against the new teams. 2 wins
Split the wins with the mid table teams. 2 wins.

That’s four wins for the season, I would be very happy with that and I would consider it a progressive season.

Minimum of three wins for me is the benchmark.

Port, Hawthorn and Essendon are the only chances, I think. And that's with the AFLW going seriously soft on us.

Wakfers replacement

A Google search tells me she is dating, or has dated, Sean Darcy. Hopefully that ruck talent has rubbed off on her.

(From a hideous article from a couple of years ago happy to label them ‘WAGS’ - time to remove that moniker forever, thanks)
