Shroj seems to be developing into a bullish mid with a set of mitts that are vice like. Something I noticed in our last game was a lot of dropped marks that shouldn't have been, I'd love if we targeted a taller player this draft that can help off half back with a strong set of hands and physicality to send us forwards. Even swing forward to be a hit up target too.
I’m nowhere near across the development side of things or any of the young prospects, but it used to frustrate me no end that Ella Roberts would drop routine marks all the time in her early seasons. Now she grabs damn near everything.

Is it simply a matter of more time spent around the Size 4 footy and they figure it out eventually? Rentsch has impressed me with her ability to track the bouncing ball, which is not a skill that’s across the board yet. Going off some googling, it seems they only get a couple of years with the game ball before being drafted, and I’m not sure how much footy they’re playing in that time compared to the men’s recruits.

That sounds like the perfect description of Molly O'Hehir from South Fremantle 179 cm, very good footballer, is Molly.

I'd be absolutely thrilled to have Molly at the nest next year! I keep forgetting that our second draft pick in Kavanagh is on the sidelines.... We may have some green shoots popping up over the next few years hopefully.

Looking forward to seeing what Roux can bring as she showed immense promise in her first year with the purps, seems to be one of those players that only thrives in optimal conditions/mental space. I feel like Daisy and the connection of the youngsters at our club is as good a place as any to eek out Roux's potential.

Also heard Drenno on a podcast seriously praising and excited by Lakay and Roberts as ones to watch rise. I think internally Lakay is rated pretty highly and she definitely has upside, pretty sure she set a hitouts record a few seasons back and is yet to recapture her best form/touch. She looks very underdone atm

They only go up to 12 if they hit broadcast and crowd benchmarks, and playing games on Tuesdays and at shit venues is a good way to ensure they don't have to.
12 is guaranteed for next year and beyond.

Automatic trigger for 14 within the next few years is dependent on the "metrics", but audiences for below-average non-typical timeslots (midweek games, etc.) aren't included in that.

Decent goal from McCarthy after the siren to down the Dees. Gabby O'Sullivan was an absolute machine all game for the purps, I'm hoping our own Rowley will develop into that kind of player. It'll be an interesting game come round 8, hopefully a cracking derby.

I get the sense (without watching her juniors to be fair) she was one of those players that at lower levels was that much more agile and skilled on the deck than anyone else that actually marking it wasn't as big of a deal.

Think we may have all played with those types (often the elite mids who have high-marking capabilities) who are that level above and have 80% of their concentration on where they're running next, one eyeball turning around in the head looking down the ground etc, and they know exactly where the ball is bouncing when they spill the mark so just pick it up and keep going. Probably more effective in a sense to just do it all yourself rather than get stuck behind someone on the mark and needing to hit up teammates who would be well below her level.

At the highest level she's probably come up against types where they're strong and agile enough to keep body on her the whole time. It feels like the last year or so she's simplified the process a bit + got a bit bigger and stronger to hold her ground and is happier to take the marking win, go back and take her kick etc. Been a progression for her (and hopefully will be for Harley Reid for that matter) where the unique learning process is knowing when to be 'boring' and just take the W vs when to do something exceptional and run around 3 people.

Bit of guesswork on her actual mindset of course and am sure you're right about the Size 4 also, either way really good to see from her.

Bush, Russian, and Roxy are all tests for this week.

Britton listed as 1 week, Hosk 2-3 weeks.

Presumably Zakfer is right to go after coming off late.

Is the first one the one we didn't do?
I remember that kerfuffle
Oh, after all that, when they got around to joining the rest of the world they actually put out a phenomenal jumper.

Last year’s effort however was…not great.

Oh I totally Missed that 3d layers effect one. That's on me for not following the w very well. I like that the wings get feathers and that effect.
Both Leaps ahead of the Nyan cat trail one though.
