I heard Ella and her family have well and truly left the purples and loving life as an Eagle.

Wasn’t her recent comment “we are building something special here”
They are all media trained to say those things but, I have also heard that she is happy.

Hopefully we can do the same with Srhoj

Just take Anjelique Raison with your first pick. It will better fit your list needs and make everyone happy (maybe not Anjelique)

The more of this stuff the club does the better.

It’s the reason why the AFLW can only be a good thing encouraging girls to take up the sport even if old barnacles like me only have a limited interest in it

No real surprise there - Cleaver, Henry and Shroj are in the AFLW academy

Seven West Australians have been named as part of the intake for the 2023 NAB AFL and AFLW Academy programs.

Local girls Georgie Cleaver, Jaime Henry, and Kaitlyn Srhoj are part of the AFLW Academy squad, while Daniel Curtin, Mitchell Edwards, Riley Hardeman and Koltyn Tholstrup complete the quartet of WA boys chosen.

Michelle Cowan has been selected as one of five women to do a course to accelerate their development to be able to work in men’s AFL programs.
From what I’ve heard, it would be a great result if she was out of the AFLW program.

Sometime I am grateful for being mildly dyslexic - like when I read your username!!!

Not sure about hate, but she took Freo to 2nd last in both years she coached us and then has overseen a similar story at West Coast for 4 seasons, and keeps getting promoted.

Yeah not sure about hate (or even the same general moaning I probably overdo about Prior) - but have heard things coming out of the program that her general coaching vibe is a bit blasé - no real specific vibe or direction that wouldn't already be given by your everyday cliché coach.

That being said nothing wrong with being part of an accelerated development course if it improves output. The more professional our overall outfit the better.

Would be a big move for a single mum to come over to the other side of the country for a Tier 4 contract.
Yeah can't see that happening.
Anyone got a sense of who would be the top WA prospects in a draft that was solely overagers?
  1. Tarni Golisano Tarnica GOLISANO | WAFL
  2. Madizen Wilkins https://wafl.com.au/player/madizen-wilkin
  3. Jaymee Harken Jayme HARKEN | WAFL
  4. Bella Mann Bella MANN | WAFL
  5. Claire Ortlepp Claire ORTLEPP | WAFL
  6. Sharon Wong Sharon WONG | WAFL
  7. Amber Kinnane Amber KINNANE | WAFL
  8. Laura Catherine Laura CATHERINE | WAFL
  9. Chloe Wrigley Chloe WRIGLEY | WAFL
  10. Ebony Dowson Ebony DOWSON | WAFL
  11. Kiara Templeman Kiara TEMPLEMAN | WAFL

  13. Jessica Cox Jessica COX | WAFL
  14. Ruby Mahony Ruby MAHONY | WAFL

These would be mature age players I'd look at. Not sure if any of them will cut it (Madi having one game at Freo already notwithstanding)

I'll be surprised/happy if we add anything of any real value tbh

Some players just need a chance. In an elite environment, players can surprise.

That said, I can't this lot being long term players. Happy to be proven wrong.

Gilchrist for me. Catherine if we needed to try another tall, but I'm not sure we do. Probably won't work, but worth a shot.

Gilchrist for me.
Good tank. Gets it a lot on the outside.

However can turn it over and lead the WAFLW comp in 2022 with clanger kicks at 2.9 a game in her 10 games
