Yeah i heard that same storey that he approached Drouin with a package including the McFarlanes. I also heard that one he approached Drouin that warragul started to chase him to.

nah. i think they have resigned to being shit this year in a push to move to the EDFL next year. which may hurt them again because i can't see Brent Eastwell playing against buln buln.

Ben is definetly playing at Maffra - 100%.
Craig is definetly playing at Maffra - 100%.
David is definetly playing at Port Melbourne - 100%.

can only go by what the Warragul gazette, Paky gazette and the L.V. Express report mate. they are the local rags i have access to. everything ive been told and read says most clubs have lost no-one of any real note with a few clubs like Maffra, Moe, Traralgon and Drouin recruiting quite well. Sale and Garfield have lost a few players and ive heard nothing about Leongatha. so whats your point mate.......?

That you boys don't read too many other papers about teams in your league....that is my point

David Robbins back at Maffra? Is this true? The Eagles should be able to bounce back up the top if it is, yeah?

Sorry i said that. I don't believe david is playing at maffra now. They havent really picked up any one as of yet bar craig. but i would say coach jug head (robbins) will do wonders for a club that has a lazy attitude from personal reports.

You would have to say Maffra won't be far away especially if adrian burgiel plays a full year.

It wouldn't surprise if Maffra next year snag a high profile coach from NGFNL to play or them though....

There must be a lot of clubs out there wishing they had Maffra's "lazy attitude" given they have played finals for the last 9 years including 5 premierships from 6 grand finals.

Leongatha have signed a gun full forward from Swan Hill major league. He kicked around 100 goals last year is around 24 years old. I will get his name from the local paper but they have a lot good reports about him. I will get further details for you guys but they are stoked with this appointment. All there recruits from last year are staying on for another year so you would think they will get stronger this year not weaker.

I think its the talent and belief they have had that has stood up when the heat is on in finals. Not neccesarily there dedication to hard work...;)

[Parrots Pluck Star - THE STAR

The Parrots are toasting the recruitment of a Swan Hill full forward for the 2009 season. Dwayne Holt 24 kicked 98 goals last season in the Central Murray League.
In Swan Hill they are calling his departure from their 2008 premiership side a massive loss.
Leongatha Football Club president, Glen Wright said he was a huge pick-up for the club.
"Forwards are very hard to find and there's not many who kick that many goals and are availabe, he said.
"Its on of the key positions we have been looking for over a number of years to support the others on the forward line.
You hear of these players being available through contacts in Melbourne and no doubt everyone around was chasing him."
Dwayne was born in Swan Hill and said the decision to move south was due to desire for new location.
"Being a country boy playing at a country club is a more appealing. It's easier and more social," Dwayne said.
"Adrian was pretty easy to get along with, which helps, and I drove down and had a look at the facilities."
He will live in Melbourne and begin a carpentry apprenticeship.
Parrot coach Adrian Campbell said other pickups include Travis Brown, who is orginally from Echuca, and Will Creek from Adelaide, who transferred here for work. A few more are likely to commit to the Parrots before the season begins. Kurt Gowers has left for Meeniyan and another couple are likely to shift clubs. (I know Jessie Boyd last year CHB has signed with Inverloch so that is one confirmed). In terms of losing blokes we havern't lost a lot and we gained a few we needed." Adrian said.
Adrian said at this early stage the team should give finals a shake if everyone is fit and ready to play.
"We were a bit disappointed with last year as we recruited well, but we didn't play a game all year with a full list," he said.
The Parrot seniors finished last year on a high beating top three sides in the final weeks of the season. It meant five wins and third last placing on the ladder for 2008.
"The boys realised where they were and can't wait to get into it this year,"glen said.
"They proved they had the nucleus of a good side and we were just looking for another key forward."
His predicating an even competition in the West Gippsland Latrobe Football League.
"The standard is lifting all the time and the reports coming in from the other teams are good and there are some big names playing back in the Latrobe Valley," Glenn said.

the central murray league wouldnt be much better than mid gippy so the gatha shouldnt get there hopes up too much!!!
This may be a shade presumptuous on my behalf but i hazard a guess that you haven't seen a game of central murray football? Even if for some unfathomable reason your outlandish statement is true, you obviously don't rate 24 y.o footballers that have averaged 90 goals per year since they were teenagers and played in premierships. Therefore if we extrapalate your theory into closer text, your saying, recruiting a 24 y.o. TimTraill wouldn't be an important recruit for any team?
