Now that the PSA season is coming to an end with Aquinas College taking it outright i have watched alot of footy this year in the PSA and beleive there are some very strong players playing in it at the moment.
Some of the players i know quite well and some i dont so if you have any infrotmation on them please share...
Most of the following are the not so well known players who i think impressed
There were a few standouts for me this year in the competition.
Nat Fyfe (#9) - Aquinas College
Quit a skinny, wirey type player who would be around 186-7 cm that runs all day long and has a freakish mark.
i recall on literally 10+ occasions during the hale, trinity and scotch games alone where he would be in a pack of 4 or so players and would end up with the ball in his hands.
I prsonally think that with some more body development he could be a very handy player in the future as he can play anywhere from the wing to CHF or HBF and seems to just take marks and create all day long.
Aaron Holt (#15) - Scotch College
Have seen him play over the last two years and his work rate impresses me. Not too big but can get away with playing KPP in PSA with his skills.
Marks alot and have seen him play alot of roles from a forward to a halfback flanker who runs down and recieves. Captains Scotch 1stXVIII and beleive he plays colts at claremont on a wing i beleive.
Very impressed with his skill and should be one to look out for 18's next year.
Jamie Koric (#11) - Aquinas College
Had a solid year holding down CHB for Aquinas, not the tallest KPP but i was very impressed by the way he attacked the ball and never gave up in a contest. I was extremely impressed with his game against Wesley College where in my opinion he had a day out against Mitchell Mrash with Koric racking up the possesions and Marsh struggling to get his hands on the ball.
Toby Mcnamara (#8) - Aquinas College
Mcnamara is the obvious key forward of the Aquinas Team and did get alot of attention from many teams this year.
As a small type forward playing a KPP role i beleive he was absolutely outstanding this year and up until about round 3 this year i think he had 13 straight games incuding year 11 of 1stXVIII football kicking 3 or more goals which im sure would go close to some kind of record. He is very good in the air and rarely drops a mark on the lead and is a reliable kick for goal i just wonder about his height...
noticed he recently played a game for West Perth colts playing in the midfield with 10 kicks 7 handballs 6 marks 3 frees for and 1 against which by anyones standards is a good first game.
The above 4 were my standouts not including the likes of
Lucas, Duncan Sheppard and Marsh.
some of the year 11's that played this year were very good and i like the look of dylan murray from trinity college. brendan thompson from aquinas and matthew rawlinson from christchurch.
anyone else got anything to say?
