Now that the PSA season is coming to an end with Aquinas College taking it outright i have watched alot of footy this year in the PSA and beleive there are some very strong players playing in it at the moment.
Some of the players i know quite well and some i dont so if you have any infrotmation on them please share...
Most of the following are the not so well known players who i think impressed

There were a few standouts for me this year in the competition.

Nat Fyfe (#9) - Aquinas College

Quit a skinny, wirey type player who would be around 186-7 cm that runs all day long and has a freakish mark.
i recall on literally 10+ occasions during the hale, trinity and scotch games alone where he would be in a pack of 4 or so players and would end up with the ball in his hands.
I prsonally think that with some more body development he could be a very handy player in the future as he can play anywhere from the wing to CHF or HBF and seems to just take marks and create all day long.

Aaron Holt (#15) - Scotch College

Have seen him play over the last two years and his work rate impresses me. Not too big but can get away with playing KPP in PSA with his skills.
Marks alot and have seen him play alot of roles from a forward to a halfback flanker who runs down and recieves. Captains Scotch 1stXVIII and beleive he plays colts at claremont on a wing i beleive.
Very impressed with his skill and should be one to look out for 18's next year.

Jamie Koric (#11) - Aquinas College

Had a solid year holding down CHB for Aquinas, not the tallest KPP but i was very impressed by the way he attacked the ball and never gave up in a contest. I was extremely impressed with his game against Wesley College where in my opinion he had a day out against Mitchell Mrash with Koric racking up the possesions and Marsh struggling to get his hands on the ball.

Toby Mcnamara (#8) - Aquinas College

Mcnamara is the obvious key forward of the Aquinas Team and did get alot of attention from many teams this year.
As a small type forward playing a KPP role i beleive he was absolutely outstanding this year and up until about round 3 this year i think he had 13 straight games incuding year 11 of 1stXVIII football kicking 3 or more goals which im sure would go close to some kind of record. He is very good in the air and rarely drops a mark on the lead and is a reliable kick for goal i just wonder about his height...
noticed he recently played a game for West Perth colts playing in the midfield with 10 kicks 7 handballs 6 marks 3 frees for and 1 against which by anyones standards is a good first game.

The above 4 were my standouts not including the likes of
Lucas, Duncan Sheppard and Marsh.

some of the year 11's that played this year were very good and i like the look of dylan murray from trinity college. brendan thompson from aquinas and matthew rawlinson from christchurch.

anyone else got anything to say?

Who do these players now play for to futher there developemnt. Is it like in the private school in Victoria where they now play for one of the TAC teams when not playing school footy?, presuminly meaning that they would play colts over in the west?

yeah like in vic i beleive,
most of the year 12 boys who are turning 17 throughout this year play colts when they have bye's or school holidays etc. because at most of the schools u must represent the school before colts.

predomenently all the year 12's will be available for colts and 18's selection next year also which they should play.

Yer i know abit about McGee

at times can be selfish, but can kick goals from anywhere! A left footer!

Carter does have a lot of potential if he has the right mindset, big call saying better than Marsh, but we will see in the not to distant future!!

Marsh will go to cricket anyway!!

Agree with the comments about McGee's prospects - don't know about the 'selfish' bit though. Very impressive mark with instinct to protect the space around the ball for himself, and a dead-eye. Like Marsh, will likely go to another sport with US MLB interest expressed already I did hear. His father was a top baseballer, and a yank.

yer great pair of hands!!

obviously werent at the game on the wknd, 5 minutes to go and AC 11 points up , McGee 25 out on the boundry went for the checkside instead of handballing to unmarked team mate in goal square! hit the post and they were never in it from then on!

yer very talented at all sports including soccer, cricket, baseball, football, basketball n tennis!!

j christie is a future superstar his mentor is james clement he is about 183cm but ask him and he wll tell you he is gonna be 190cm because he rekons his family grows late bit skinny but hits the pack a pace definatly a KPP at south freo colts next year but at the moment he plays a bit like scotty pendlebury

played for attadale for a couple of years and probably accumulated 10 disposals the whole year plays seconds at aquinas and rekons he gets on average 10 disposals a quater

Italics were all players involved with State 16s, note all of them were not in the final squad.

Bolds were State 18s to my knowledge.

Mitch Carter played State 16s last year. Has some of the best skills I have personally ever seen.

Monaco, i hav played agaisnt in the psa for the past few years, he is a very flashy player who always backs himself to get around you, still a good player and could make afl,

Carter according to the former under 16s coach has/had the best skills in australia for his age, but he doesnt get the ball enough, definately rate marsh and shepps ahead of him.

suckling is a gun runner, dunn well done may know a little more a bout him, cause hes had a pretty good psa season this year, suckling will go close to winning b&f for wesley, (shepps and marsh had 18s)

ugle got all-australian for the under 15s a few weeks ago, so hes definately one to watch

Players that are serious about their footy shouldnt play PSA football they should play full time WAFL Colts, thats where the scouts are mostly looking and where you will get picked up from

So two top ten draft picks Dave Myers and Cale Morton were hard done by because they didn't play colts footy until they left school??

I think you will find that the rule is that PSA schools won't let anyone play for any other club on the same day other than State football...

is that if they are on scholarships or anyone?
if you were a full paid up student do u need to play school footy?

Scholarships are not allowed in the PSA system... although indigenous boys are allowed to receive scholarships so that can cheat the system

it is a requirement that if you are fully paid up and are involved in football you must play for the school

i think michael edwards #5 aquinas college has a real good work ethic and always seems to end up with the pill and uses it well 100 percent of the time. A name to look out for in the future

I watched a couple of Scotch games (I'm a Scotch old boy) was pretty average team (2 wins for the yr) however one player who stood out for me was #3 Tommy Lee. Big tall lanky boy with simply brilliant hands, very large armspan (the amount of times you would see a great big pair of arms tower over everyone elses and take an almost uncontested mark is ridiculous!) and very large motor, alternated between ff, chf and ruck and didn't stop running all day. Was talking to some of the parents and apparently he's had a meeting with the Crows, so maybe someone to look out for in the future...
