I believe there is a match tomorrow between SSWA and ACC All Stars teams with a number of prospects playing. Anyone have any further details?

Looking at WAFL coaches award votes and saw Luke Cotellessa finished in 4th place on 25 votes and runner up in Swans b&f quite astounding considering he could only manage 8 games due to psa
We backed him from day one mate as you know and never gave up hope that others would notice. I tried my best :(

L’ Cota officially only turned 18 yesterday .. his 2024 season - commitment, discipline, AFL product, results , averages, votes, accolades in both PSA & Colts (psa full season) (WAFL 8 games) are unequivocally off the charts -
GF Rank /Coaches Vote 4th(8)
list goes on .. stay’n hopeful

Well, as I've said before. It's best just to enjoy playing no matter what level.

An AFL career is fraught with perils. Bad influences, mysterious folks appear out of nowhere. An unbalanced lifestyle of footy footy footy. No privacy or social life.

It isn't the worst thing to be a WAFL league hero - play in a premiership in a comp that is full of tradition and in fact 140 years old, keep your school friends, your sweetheart. Go out for a pub meal and a few beers during the week and have nobody pestering you. Carve out a career or trade that will set you up for life.

If I had a son or daughter footballer, they I'd be over the moon if they could live a life like that.

Speaking of the WAFL celebrating 140 years....thank goodness a huge number of Victorians came over for gold and other financial opportunties in the second half of the 1800's.

In the early days we were a rugby state in WA.

The Victorians who were interested in playing sport were more into their Victorian Rules Football or Australian Rules Football and forced a meeting of clubs.

A vote was cast at the town hall (or somewhere similar) and it was Victorian football that won.

Within a mere week rugby was replaced by Victorian football. Incredible really.

I'll have to go back and read my history book to recall exact details and dates but that's more or less what occured from memory.

A lot of young lads went to high school in Adelaide and brought it back. Rugby wasn’t particularly well codified at the time.

Yes South Australians also plus as you say WA schoolboys who went interstate for boarding school.

I'll have that read that book again soon. It's very long though. I can't remember if the code change vote took place at the town hall or a pub. Some of those WA clubs have long since gone or changed name. Fremantle, High School FC, Imperials, Rovers, Union, Wests.

I guess I could have been a rugby fan, if that had of been the code of choice but it just doesn't feel right.

The WA State draft combine was slated for today IIRC do you know where we can find the results?

I wish mate. I don't even know who the late additions to the state combine were.

Moreover, I don't know where to find information like that.

The WAFL website doesn't really provide much and seeing as it is a Sunday I'd be surpised to see anything.

Rookie Me Central might be the best bet.

Yeah Rookie Me Central is running the show, there is some footage on WAFL official saying 14 WA players took part in the Combine today, not sure if that includes the girls. WA footy prospects says the standouts were Mactaggart, Boxshall & Brown.
