NSW and the Sixers have collectively beaten us 5 times from 5 games this season but when a trophy was on the line they crumbled before the might of Cartwright

Is there any chance the Scorchers can pinch Hilton Cartwright away from the Stars? His game has seem to got better with age.

He is the sort of player that would fit well down the middle order for them as well.

Scorchers batting tended to drop off when got into 7 and lower.
I'd open with him.

Cartwright is contracted for the stars

NCN and Rochi are their 2 WA uncontracted players

Hobson, Tye and Whiteman are our notable uncontracted players + Haskett and Mckenzie

Based on BBL Facebook page, they did season review things for each team

Cartwright goes from villain for dropping a soda v Tassie, to hero with his match winning unbeaten knock in a cut throat final.....cricket, and sport in general, has a funny way of doing that....often in the other direction though.

Paris gets a well deserved 4 for, pity this guy has had a career plagued with injuries. Hobson has a knack of being there in the end as well. Besides that Davies/Henriques partnership and that early order WA mini order collapse, WA bossed the game for large periods.

As not only a fan of WA cricket, but Aust cricket in general, good to see NSW Davies continue his good season....one for the future we hope.

As mentioned above great win considering the sheer amount of quality players out and i think the fact we have been treading water a bit all year. Even chasing 170 at 3/30 i thought we were goners, should have had more faith.
Hilton is a gun and so well deserved for him to dominate that chase, and Joel Paris I've said before, FC bowling ave of 20, not mid 20s but 20. Has to go down as one of WA best domestic bowlers of all time.

By my count thats 6 One Day domestic titles , 2 Shields and 5 Big Bash's in the last decade. Behrendorf has 9 of those, Tye, Bancroft 8 and Whiteman and Cartwright 7. Thats some legacy.

When's the last time Inglis actually played shield for us? Seems like an eternity. But yes as above, I'd go Haskett over Gannon. Kid has impressed me this season. I feel they may go the experience though.

Just had this text come in from the WA police

"MISSING" 27 year old fast bowler, representative of Western Australia/Perth Scorchers Australian Cricket team
Last seen in the vicinity of Optus Stadium Perth WA in December. Suspect has a dodgy throwing arm but can bowl 140 plus and swing it both ways. If found please contact Adam Voges WA Shield coach and the ACB.

A lot of people were saying it's been a crap year and we might as well just play the kids.

BBL: played finals
Marsh Cup: Won
Shield: Made the final.

With the injuries and international call ups, win lose or draw in the Shield, it's been another terrific year.
Yeah tuggs...funny isn't it

I honestly thought after the NSW game when we got hammered at the WACA...we had run our race...we played the kids Fanning Wyllie Goodwin all in the same team and we struggled. Just getting those international back helped heaps Green and Inglis but the others have stood up. Bangers has had a fantastic year along with Rocco Paris good as always with the ball and I reckon Whiteman has captained very well this year...and a big shout out to young haskett......plays the enforcer role and he is a big lad...has a future keeps tabs on him

It's been a great achievement with the amount of injuries to the squad and the internationals away....I still think Tassie deserve to be favourites as they have ...apart from this game played really good cricket throughout the season...but saying that I think we can still win it .
