Strong rumour that Mt Burr premiership coach Dean to go to Millicent. Helluva coup if true.

rumour is true. ;)
also heard off a few handy names joining the saints in 2010!
Any names to those whisper's who's joining the saints; yes, it is true about Darren Dean appointed non-playing coach for 2010.
It's unofficial but official down there, just tying up a few loose ends apparently.
The saints better get used too some disapline again, they tended to get away with murder down there at no fault of of previous coaches in Duldig & Lang.
The lack of disapline started before the arrival of former coach Ashleigh Brown, he tried to install it but lacked support from a few. So Dean will have no hesitation of cracking the whip and when he says jump....he means jump not crawl !!!

Would his best be behind him...FR !? he'd be 35 would'nt he. Looking at his career he's been mr consistant in his time.

Apart from the big fella at south in Ryan, who's still worth his weight too them and playing for no other reason than for his team mates...and not for himself, Quinlivan has probably made the team & un selfish decision to bow out on a high.
Meaning, although Portland did'nt finish off the yr like they would've (bowing out in straight sets w the double chance) he was still being a good contributor to his side regardless of his age.
Rather than turning it over by hand & foot due too your body packing up and struggling to make a valuable contribution !!!

I believe Brad Sinclair, 2009 premiership coach in Ellinbank League in Gippsland maybe coaching Heywood, he had Mal Michael at Nilma Darnum this year and he maybe going with him. Good coach with AFL playing experience and coached at VFL level. Darnum's first premiership in 50 years after being belted for many years. Rumour I heard on Saturday night he would have 5 or 6 quality players going with him.

Hi there bigdukes
Is this true that he would go to Heywood, quite a rumour?
I was at a 40th birthday party on Saturday night and was speaking to someone who knows him well and he said that Sinclair was actually in Heywood talking with the club over the weekend. He is deciding between 3 or 4 offers, but if he has spent the weekend in Heywood, I would assume he is seriously considering it.

Maybe he's just being kind to Heywood...rumours are a helluva thing
It would be quite a coup don't you think?

I don't know. I played under him in the mid 1990's and I rate him the best coach I played under, and so do many others. I watched 5 or 6 games this year at Darnum and he is even better now. I don't know what the comp is like up there, but he would definately bring a high sense of professionalism to the club. I'm surpised he's not staying at Darnum after a premiership year, they seemed an excellent club and the carrot of back 2 back would be hard to knock back. I know that the offer in qld is a very good one, so who knows where he will end up. Lots of rumours down here at the moment on player and coach movements.

Hot off the press this morning is that Millicent's full forward and 2009 wbfl leading goalkicker Chris Murray is being chased by NTFL - Darwin club Southern Districts.

Word has it Michael 'Majo' Maclean, who has been appointed coach of the club after standing down last yr, to coach the newly formed ntfl side in the state league in Brisbane and has been in touch w Murray.

Murray spent the second half of the season in Darwin two seasons ago, whilst only playing in the two's for Districts (as there senior fwd line then was loaded up w guns from the O & Murray) obviously impressed Maclean for him to show interest in him.

It'll be highly unlikely as he has a good job and his employer is very busy this time of the year.

Word out of Millicent saturday night was that they have signed 2009 coach Matt Bryant from mid se club Robe. That whisper was confirmed tonight thru a mutual aquaintance.
Info has it that when Robe appointed a former player and two's coach over the w/e in Adrian Johns that Bryant had no reason to stay there...fair enough too; as his wife came in from robe at the start of this season to play at a higher & professional level than what Robe netballers were offering.
Newly appointed non-playing coach has already been in contact with all senior players etc about when pre-season will start.
Also he has began a weights program for all players in different groups to have started since his appointment, with a meet the coach night this friday night to kick off the next 12 months ahead.

see heywood have signed sinclair and he will be down in a few weeks... also he trying to bring a few players with him including big mal
