Of course pt cook wouldnt get any where near hoppers, but its a PRE SEASON CUP competition.....

Sunshine have signed also signed wiggins, and i think Bellingham. Not sure about any others at the moment
Makes no difference weather confirmed or not as it is pure speculation that he is a good player worth recruiting.Interesting times at the Colts in the off season though with them not offically announcing a coach,loss of players and no recruits of any profile coming in.Did find out however last Friday while taking the dog for a run through Murphys and having a yarn to a couple of the the boys not on the track that they may have recruited a very good midfielder from Yarraville who won their B&F.Andy somebody.If it is the Andy i am thinking of he will be a very good pick up and help fill a bit of the void left by Jacobs Bros.Regardless who is the coach,who they have lost,who they pick up,they still have a very good list and will be there when the serious stuff is played.

Ive heard Scott Bell has been training with Lavo and wants to leave Altona. Has signed a contract with Altona though but shouldnt be an issue. Maybe they need to realise that not all players want to play VFL and may just want a kick with their mates they have played with since under 9's. Have heard on the grape vine a few more are keen to follow.

Yes Scott Bell has trained at Laverton. If that is where he want's to play then so be it. All other "young" players that make any difference have been training with either Altona or a VFL side. Also note the the VFL boys still attend a lot of training sessions at Altona even if it is to watch. It's good that blokes still want to have a kick with their mates that is what footy is all about. But is working hard to achieve something a bad thing? If the last 5 years in this comp is any thing to go by the team that wins it are all MATES they just work hard.

Bellingham is still not officially at Sunshine yet although we are still hopefull. He is very talented there is no doubt on that, although it's common knowledge he needs to be fitter.
I personaly find it very strange that the port colts have not named a coach, we look on the wrfl website and a club like Lavo have a big announcement, though nothing out of port.
Colts will be ok but with those losses and hardly any pick ups they will not finish top 3.

Josh went on an overseas trip with a few games remaining last season and also studies law, probably having a year off, an Altona boy. Not sure about Doran but he is always with the young Altona boys having a laugh if that is anything to go by (could also play at a higher level if he wanted, VFL etc.). Jack is a good u/18 and an Altona boy, some kids like to have a year or two off before playing senior footy, others don't come back. Not all u/18's go on to play reserves or seniors even if Altona have kept the vast majority of our younger players over the last few years. Scotty Bell not sure, hearing a lot, whatever makes him happy.
So suggesting we are leaking kids I think is a little bit silly, but hey that's just me, I'd worry more about your own club if you aren't from Altona.

Well let's be honest here for 1 second.
Altona and st.albans will struggle to make finals, and even more honestly west, glenorden and your sunny heights are no chance to make any impact. You mite not like hearing that but it's fact coach!

Honestly I don't believe that either St.Albans or Altona can't make finals. In saying that they both need to work a lot harder than the top 5 to get there.
St.Albans have lost a couple of key players but have retained young guys like Sims and Jenkins who can dominate games in the future and can get the ball. They may be missing a few older players but will still be competitive. Altona haven't lost anybody of any real importance except for maybe Doran who could still be a possibility of playing. They may not have many older more experienced guys except for Freeland but some of their younger blokes have more experience now than last year.
Also believe that Sunny heights will be better than last year and to say they have no impact on the year is silly. That mite just spur them on to prove people on. if the bottom 5 are already out of the comp then why do't we just have a five team comp and relegate the bottom 5 to 2nd div now for a 15 team comp??
Can confirm that steve doran is playing for altona this season just cant make training due to work commitments.

Thats what I was after. You obviously didnt think that these 2 were a chance but made it a 7 instead of a 5 so you didnt upset anyone.
front n square - I agree that we will do better than most people think but disagree that anything posted on here would spur the boys on.

yeah more the 18's i was talkin about there either playin VFL or havin the year of im mates with Attard and he is defintely keen on a year off jacks never been 100% interested in foooty & i dunno about Bell just red what ppl have been sayin of him goin to laverton in the Div 2 thread cant see y he would wanna go there though..
Good to see Bellingham going to sunshine get him fit will be very good for sunshine strong body and quick of the mark can kick a baggg with a good midfield which sunshine have..
I dont think St albans could make top 5 Altona possability depending on recruits desperately need key talls picked up hevern half a donkey is what i think personally good to hear young back there tho..
Cant get over how many players the coltshave lost itsridiculous reallly gunna have a terrible forward line with all those fellas leaving..Its like they have any 18 yr olds to be braggin about..
Altona might be able to sneak in to the 5 if colts loose anoter 1 or 2 names..

Knowing Eamesy and what he is trying to instill down at Altona, then i guess it's safe to say that Doran will not play seniors if work commitments unfortunately get in his way.
