Re: Western Region Football League team

Reading in the local Rag the Hoppers Pres complaining about only one Hoppers player being invited the league B&F. Does this mean the UMP's have finally got something right.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Any word from their president in the article about them potentially moving to a geelong league within the next couple of years?

that's the rumour getting around isn't it, does anyone have any info on this, i'm sure the wrfl wouldn't want to lose one of their top clubs it would be a slap in the face

Also heard the new double story clubrooms are set to commence construction in early 07. The Hoppers Crossing Football Franchise is growing by the day.

Maybe this is in antipation of a move into the Geelong league.

Re: Western Region Football League team

All i heard was that it was to the Gellong and District Football League which is surprising. With their current list, they would be unbackable favourites in that league i would have thought. The Geelong Football League is obviously one of the strongest in country victoria, maybe by starting in the GDFL, they think they may eventually gain entry into the GFL?????

Re: Western Region Football League team

My mail is that Hoppers are looking to move as soon as next season, the other whispher going around is that there are 2 Div 1 clubs looking at going to the EDFL - the word is they would have to start off in 2nd Div in that league. Maybe it's time for the league to take note of what clubs are saying.

Thanx for the support JUSTIN.
How did your season end up mate?

We finished 6th and missed the finals by a few games. Lost too many close ones early and a few quality players short to push the top 2. Could do with a strawberry headed full forward in 2007!! :D

St Albans would be one - and the other is just mentioned as a second club could be anyone there are a few clubs not happy at the moment, so I would like to guess

The colts were also looking at maybe going te the edfl purely because of things in the way the wrfl is run,and it's obvious other clubs feel the same so hopefully the wrfl admin can make a few adjustments and the league can move fwd and make some positve changes.
Football victoria will not let any clubs leave the wrfl at the moment especially from first division and i think it will be the same in the dvfl.

To the footy and for the last time my tips for the week,i actually can't believe how quick this season has gone and bigfooty has made it more enjoyable with the constant banter.
It has come down to two and clearly the best two teams in it now the last couple hoppers have got over us and they have won 11 games in a row,but with 1 game in a month and now the colts have the best possible line up in and with everyone fit as they have been all year i believe we can knock the warriors of and i think it will be a hard tough battle for most of the game but i think we can run over the top of them and win comfortably, with masis and brannan back our structure could not be any better and we will play the game with alot more intensity and desperration.

COLTS BY 29PTS
GO COLTS!!!

I am going to the granny tommorrow so I want to see speckies, shirtfronts, goals from 60 metres, goals from the boundary, snipes, king hits, all in brawls (players as well as crowds) and sheilas getting porked in the s hithouse. all in a good day of suburban footy.

As a Geelong boy i can tell you that the Gfl has knocked back interest from 2 clubs already about joing the GFL. They are happy with their 12 team comp. Although Hoppers wont be in the league apparently a few of their players will be. A certain set of brothers are shopping around for good money.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Just want to wish Rock and all the colts boys all the best for tomorrow. You've got the side to go back to back, the midfield has the run, you've got the key forwards to break a game wide open and you've got blokes that can sacrifice their game for the team.

Best of luck boys.

Should be back in 5 weeks.

The Turk,
I was thinking of you last night, I was at Altona Baseball Stadium and it brought back fond memories of watching you catch flyballs at right field back in your heyday.

Parkside is the other club as they have had talks with the EDFL about getting into the league, but u would think after their last game they haven't done themselves any favours.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Colts by 2 points in the end i think, absolute cracker of a game! Fitting way to end the year, with Hoppers having the game for the taking, but over-run in the end by a desperate Colts team. Full credit to u rock and all the other bigfooty blokes on here, great way to win a flag. Had a lot of guys down for the day, and a couple of send offs but still managed to claw your way back in to it. Winters starred with 4 or 5, and McAnulty was BOG by a street, he dominated all day! Well Done.

Re: Western Region Football League team

listened on the radio couldnt go shatterd i missed a cracker well done colts back to back that itself is a magnificant achievement congrats to all.......
