Re: Western Region Football League team

Must have this Mcferran mixed up with his sister, not a bad bloke but hardly a good enough footballer to be rated as the " best in the comp".

Says something for the standard of the comp perhaps?

As for your apprasil of Albions new coach, judging by your opinons of him and others in the comp you must have been on the recieving end of a few from him and the boys from the colts?

Na mate just have watched a lot of footy over the years and only reporting what i have seen. I wouldn't say Maca is a league B&F either but i can also see how maybe in a different league he has attracted the attention of the umpires. He has been found out in the WRFL and used to get a lot of attention. Used to do more damage in his earlier days, new league no rep right under the radar> As for my comments about Albions new appointment wouldn't know i'm too have to played against him, but have seen him do some silly undisciplined stuff on a footy field. as for the colts boys they just hit everything hard ball and packs included!

Re: Western Region Football League team

The official line from the club is "work committments" have made it too difulcult for him to continue on, as he was.

I am sniffing around for the juicer version, on a positive note Steve is wrapped to be taking on the role, something he was close to doing a couple of years back.

strange last i heard shanks was looking forward to the new year must have changed jobs if this is the case. (ill wait for your other version)

i think steve will do a good job been great leader over the years.

Re: Western Region Football League team

just heard a strong rumour from a good source steve zavalas to albion

as captain/coach
gee i wonder if parkside will have a team next year, most players took off last year and the decent ones that stayed are leaving, theyll have no real parksiders left, the parkside era has come to an end theyll end like braybrook a once powerfull club in divy 1 to a struggling club in divy 2

You may be right, Zavalas' appiontment may well be the straw that breaks the camels back. If he were to have any influence on the remaining "first division players" he would obviously look to take a few with him. As we know Albion have plenty of coin to throw around.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Sunshine will remain midfield/just in the 5 as they don't have the players to stand up when the finals pressure is on aka 07. St Albans were supposed to be OK in 07 but internal rumblings stuffed them. Glenorden don't need all that much to be competitive as shown toward the end of the season. Yarraville and Altona need to look at the way Glenorden have gone about things in 07 and stop wallowing in self pitty. If you are in Div 1 behave and act like it. Keogh looking elsewhere back in the EDFL where he was the first Coach in history to instruct his players not to go out for the second half !! Hoppers struggling. Apparently Beazley was going back but has decided to stay at Spotty for Club unity and stability. Keenan and Patak to stay after fending off rediculous offers from elsewhere. When will Moneymore (Strathmore) learn that offering big money to 10 blokes and then playing 2 or 3 of them in the ones does not work !! eg. Beazley, Lindsay. O'Neil, Hoath (how long did they stay??)
West will struggle. Coach has taken on the President role and yet to appoint a new Coach. Need to get that done quickly and get after 15-20 players.
Albion in trouble. As usual spent plenty for no reward. Shanks gone !! Broadbent (if he stays) will be Captain again. At least he will have been there for a season !!
Spotty and Colts seem to be the teams to beat again with Hoppers ( if they can get over their internal strife ) to be up there again.
Seems as though the teams that are well administered off the field tend to be the ones that go OK on the field despite Clubs from outside the League tryiny to Rape and Pillage.
Anyway, a bit to keep us going during the Cricket/Bowls season.

Don't tell me you just heard about Shanks. Should have read this post on 22nd October !!

no parksiders left?
i think youd be surprised whos still gonna be around the club.
people like you who talk out there arse are the cause of rumours.

Re: Western Region Football League team

McFerran great player, can see how he could win a comp B&F always had the ability. As for Steve no question he can play but is he still going to be a rat bag and snipe players or has he grown up, will have to set a better example than he has in the past, needs major on field character ajustment for a coach!![/quote]

Agree with this comment. Guy can play, but taking on such a role he'd need to pull his head in a bit. He gave me a filthy one this year when i had my head over it, bit of a rats act but oh well. Hey Parkside who's deciding to stay on next year, i'm tipping none of your better players. It's unfortnate but that's the way things go.

Is that the McFerran that has won 5 or 6 comp medals in the chicks comp?

Amazing how someone can throw punches at the bottom of packs, eye gouge, mouth off, king hit and all while picking his target manages to be classified as competitive. I've heard it all. i hope the man does do a good job and shows good leadership for his sake and Albions, but please lets call it how it is!

Your way off the mark buddy,s.savalas is hard at the ball and he doesn't care who's coming the other way,he is as tough as anyone to play in this comp, yes he gives some cheap ones but that is also part of the game, you give and take it.
The first time i played against him he squeezed my ball and it hurt but no serious damage done and i don't think you could say he has hurt anyone to bad to the affect it stopped them from playing........none that i have heard.
Godd choice by albion and i'm sure they will build on this years finals campaign.

Sorry ROCK you just back up what i said. I've never said the man can't play he is a gun. I disagree there is no place for cheap shots, ball grabbing, eye gauging to say there is is disappointing!! i'm just saying i hope he shows more leadership than he has in the past!

Im sure youd take him at Spotty, and dont worry Spotty have a few players like that too.

They being Spotty prob would, i'm pretty sure though that Theodore would not allow him to do some of the silly things he does. To be honest too much time spent on him give me something worth whileto talk about!

what the **** are u on about mate, stupidest post for a while good work, i love the ones that u read 12 times and they still dont make sense. i dont think anyone would back out of his way and let him get the ball, he's a rover not godzilla. steve is a hard player and does give cheap shots, but then so do 90% of players in this comp. will steve be a good thing for albion? time will tell i guess, they are starting to build a good culture down there and a very good side, lets hope steve can maintain this and build on last year, and try to not let albion slip back to a good side that just misses finals again.
