Re: Western Region Football League team

I'll give you coward little dog you can't hide all your life fool.

I think the message of what Secure was trying to say has become lost amongst all the angst that has developed. Some people feel strongly about their footy.

Perhaps we should just let it rest. It will all come out in the wash eventually anyway.

Fair enough,
But when this muppet starts labelling people cancers of a club and is a two bit sh*tman himself, it is upsetting.

Re: Western Region Football League team

hey pascal, Ackmal Sali is funny and what is wrong with how he looks.....

:)
Also Rock, you might be the best group at port in the last 5 years, but I have been around footy for a long time, and am still yet to see a premiership won in march! But good luck

You must not have sensed my sarcasm...anyway i agree,it is a very long season and then it all starts again come final and no doubt list management is important as are luck with injuries.

Cookie i think you will find that sunshine are better than you thought, they had alot of injuries towards the end of the season last year, if they can keep a full list on the park they will challenge for top 3 no problem.

On the yarra issue, it is tough if a club is struggling to field two teams but any player that does not want to be there move them on,all clubs are bigger than any individual and it may take time but the club will be stronger in the future for it.....

Re: Western Region Football League team

Any of the top 5 could win the flag although luck with injuries will play apart come finals time as always but that's footy and having depth is just as important as your top 5 players.
PREMIERS
COLTS [OF COURSE]
25 DAYS TO GO[/quote]

Not quite the same outcome but heres mine

W L
Spotswood 16 2
Hoppers 14 4
Port colts 13 5
St albans 12 6
Sunshine 12 6
Albion 11 7
Altona 7 11

No need for the rest.

Re: Western Region Football League team

I get why everyone rates Spotty so hi, but what do hoppers have to put them atop of everyones list?
I heard a rumor that A Venner is playing again? any truth?

Re: Western Region Football League team

I think I gave Rock a friendly spray a while back for coming on here as a coach mucking around but gee this Yarra coach is really taking the cake.

As a coach you should be the face of the club, the leader and role model for those involved at the club and for those who may potentially come to the club. It is to my amazement that someone in such a position can get into a slanging match with 3 or 4 early 20 something year olds regarding a decision to leave the footy club. This behaviour by not only the players but more importantly the coach does nothing for the image of the Yarra footy club or the direction it wants to go (as stated).

I can only sit here and read the garbage that is written by the individuals involved and base an assesment of the situation on that, that being the case any footballers with half a brain being approached by Yarraville to play for the club would rather pull on a Yooralla 15ths jersey than an Eagle one.

If I was giving advice (directing this at Secure) on the matter I would tell the coach of this club to pull his head in, get off the public forum, direct his concerns by phone in an approachable manner and get a result that is both fair to the individual and the club. If this means having the boys play with Yarra then so be it, if it means clearing them so be it but for gods sake stop acting like a uneducated 7 year old Primary school kid sulking because his party pie was stolen from his tuck shop lunch bag.

Grow up.

i couldnt agree more. everyone knows how widely bigfooty is read by everyone in the footy community and when new players are thinking of making a move to any club im sure anyone who has heard of bigfooty has got on here to have a look at what people within a league think of their potential new club. who in their right mind would want to go to yarraville now this year??????????????
after all this dirty laundry has been aired all over bigfooty. im not having a go at anyone i just think the talk about admin, players, coaches etc should be kept to a bare minimum for the sake of everyone involved. especially the club. if people want to leave the club so be it, all will have their reasons as the club will also have their reasons for wanting them to stay.
do all the bickering and bargaining in private, surely that is just common sense????

ring ring ring ring brother cougar to pull a colts jumper on

I seen on the news that danny jacobs retired, which in my opinion is very sad to see, that his body at 27 could no longer stand up to the rigours of afl footy but he did himself and his family proud but the injuries and numerous operations over the last couple of years have taken there toll.
As for pulling a colts jumper on that may happen but not in the next few years i'm sure he will play at vfl or state level if he can or may retire completly if his body is that bad......but maybe the power of the cougar mite help in him becoming a colt next year,he still has a contract at hawthorn for 2008.

Cookie it is dissapointing that secure has come on here and made things public but it also shows he has enormous amounts of passion for yarra and he is gutted that the players have walked out on him and the other players, but he will learn that he will be better off without them, and the best thing is to move on quickly and sure up the clubs future, focus on the things he can control....i have made similar mistakes in the past, as long as you learn from mistakes they are worth making....i wish yarra and secure all the best for 2008 and the next few years

Blah Blah....nothing wrong with a bit of drama on Big Footy. Get off your soapbox.

You can't say people don't enjoy reading it. I don't think most people like to see other clubs suffer, but they do enjoy a bit of gossip, banter etc

Re: Western Region Football League team

Albion where missing, turner, b.davis, m.davis, ali, zavalas, clint, caruso, willams, hall, all god senior players last year.. Kelmey didnt ruck all day had blakey ruck for most of the 2nd and 3rd. poor kid would have been stuffed if he did the whole game.. Albion did look very good, better skills than last year, and have a good option at chf now with corey. put willams in the fwd line as another tall, caruso as a small. ali in to give kelmey a chop out, turner, davis and zavalas to help out on the footy. could be a good outfit.. very early days in saying that, but they will have alot of depth this year which is very important come mid year.. they have really only lost broadbent and fenton. So should really build on last year.. think the top 6 will be that far ahead of the rest, more so than last year..

Saw the first half. Albion certainly looked good. A lot better than last year and with some good players to come in should be in contention for top three and will certainly go a long way in shaping the season for a couple of other teams.
Spoke to an Altona supporter who said they had the majority of their senior group out, including the coach and none of their VFL or jets listed guys played.
He pointed out some of the under 18 guys from last year. Sheils a gun, apparently he touched up Port at Port last year in his first senior game as a 17 year old. Richards also impressive and Pace could be anything.
he also said Altona started the first quarter with 6 current under 18 on the round to give them a taste. should be a strong club in the future. good game in tough conditions, and beer was cold!!!!

Colts are off to play corowa, should be a tough hit out, they will be primed and ready for rd 1 the following week,it's our first hit out and we are taking a pretty strong squad, probably missing 4 or 5 senior players from our best but there will also be a couple running around in the two's to get some fitness up.Then we have easter week off and then play know who are first div eastern so that also should be a solid hitout and we will be ready are firing for rd 1 against the kangas.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Cookie you are right. Ok can we all make a fresh start and support Yarraville Seddon to rebuild again and assist the comp. We need 10 sides for this competition to be competitive have close contests every week. I'm calling for harmony, yes harmony from everyone on the page. We saw last years Grand Final that what we want to see every week. I call for all clubs to be positive, talk about solutions to each clubs problems. Really all clubs need each other.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS

Re: Western Region Football League team

With Danny Jacobs retiring, any chance of pulling on the red and blue jumper Rock?

danny's hip injury has forced him retire from afl footy but doctors have told him if he plays at a lower grade he will be fine so he will be playing at port colts this season, massive recruit for both the colts and wrfl
