Re: Western Region Football League team

its starwberry blonde clown not red.... should be interesting down at glen orden this weekend catching up with me old mate wellsy and co looking forward to it. they will be raring to go, first game at home and unfurling their flag wont be an easy game

Im sure you will still pencil yourself in for half a dozen with the support of your mates down there. I could get used to this kicking goals business. I wouldnt mind another crack at it but Im sure it wont be too long before Im at the other end of the ground as was the case on Saturday. Cant wait to play on a ground with a cricket pitch covered in dirt in the middle of it.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Must say that the Hoppers Colts game was a very good game. Both sides could of won the game but with the experience of the Colts beating hoppers by a little margain when the game looked to be in hoppers bag struck again.

Few injuries i see with the colts Wittmar and Stevens could be a worry but with Mcbroom and Webb to come back, looks like a 3 peat could be on the way to murphys.

Re: Western Region Football League team

New recruit to the Colts Dave McGregor l think 8 kicks he kicked 6.2 hitting the post twice and had a massive say in the Colts come back against Hoppers, he started on the bench as well so its a fair debut.

Hoppers had a lot new faces very young faces ones that are very capable and have more of a physical attack than some of their retired platers. They will be a strong force this year again they have a good mixture of youth and experince and have keep Murphy and Miles they will love the bigger grounds. Colts started very well and looked very impressive, but the second quarter Hoppers put up a fight and hit the front in the 3rd due to the Colts going a bit flat and a key forward going down, we had only 19 fit players but the boys dug deep and pulled a great win off that was a great win for the new players.
Spotty have become flag favs and after there off season recruiting and round 1 form they deserve it the answer is can they handle it????? Ronald howd they go who played well, how did the muscel boys go??????

Parksider can you tell us who you blokes have lost now the season has started, l thought Zavalas was leaving due to work now he is traveling to Sunbury not good.

Everybody played well. I guess there are never too many bad players when you win by 25 goals.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Where is Rock07,no goals?

Well the ROCK kicked the first goal of the game, and he was feeling the best he has in a number of years, but Phipps didn't allow him to get a sniff the old bloke mite have to hang the boots up after that individual performance, at least the team one and that is the most important thing.Rock's form will be dealt with over the coming weeks and if not up to scratch he wll be in the two's,wouldn't all on bigfooty love that.

So your still a dud Jason? Too much talk and not enough time on the track in the off-season.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Anyone got any info on Jonathon Baird from Sunshine? What's he go like and what position does he play?
Cheers

Bairdy played for us last year at Sunshine, more than handy full back. Bit injury prone, but one of the best defenders in the WRFL. Played on Aaron James about 5 times and probably only had 1 or 2 kicked on him in those games. Not the best skills but doesnt mind running off the backline. Guessing ur from Wedderburn mate? How have him and Stenna gone so far? They should be standouts id imagine.

Played up there last 4 years but in Melbourne now so playing here. Still keep a keen eye on their progress. Not sure how Baird went round one but Stenhouse kicked 9. Sounds like a fair player from all reports. first round win and some big wrapts on the team this year with the boys joining the burn!
Cheers for the response

Listen here blueboy big Adam Fenton would not admit to being your mate,so just coz you know him don't claim him as your mate and it is a sure bet that you wouldn't have one the way you carry on unless you hang out with a flock of geese being the GOOSE you are.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Went down and had a look at Molan on the weekend, will be a very big danger player for sides to worry about this season.

Rock07, has age caught up with you or are you just lacking a little fitness.

Don,t you worry about Rock 07. He is not worried about the preliminary rounds when the business end of the season comes around just stand back and watch him weave his magic. He is just letting the newcomers adapt to the game plan and have a bit of fun and when the heat is on they will be a formidable unit with the Rock leading from the front.SO BEWARE.

Re: Western Region Football League team

I am here to announce the Altona Gate Match of the round to be covered by 88.9 WYN FM.

Drum roll please....

Is it the clash between the Colts and the Cats, the back to back champions and the team that is said to be one of the big improvers in Div one in 07. NO

(continue the drum roll)

Is it the clash between the Kangas and the Vikings. Both teams looking to open their accounts for season 07 and tipped to be a close encounter. NO

(continue the drum roll)

What about Parkside v St Albans. it would be great to see how the proud club Parkside repond to their thrashing last week again one of their arch rivals. NO

(continue the drum roll)

Hoppers v Yarraville Seddon. After a good win first up it would be good to see how this team celebrating a new beginning goes against one of the teams who will mix it in the top three. NO

(continue the drum roll)

Yes you guessed it (finish the drum roll and hit the symbol!!), they have gone for Spotswood v Glenorden @ Glenorden of all places. What a thrilling game that will be to hear over the airways. Anyone predicting a 150+ point margin?

Maybe someone told the radio boys that Glenorden have picked up Mckernan, Mark Porter, Justin Davies, Marc Bullen and Shane Clayton through the week?

Travy you need to work on your humour a little but understand your point, although glenorden will be unfurling their flag which may have something to do the reason.
Any way what happened last week, just spoke to swadiak's oldman at work and he tell's me you guys never threatned and st.albans had it the bag after quarter time,i hope guys don't fall away this year.
