These are hypotheticals, I mean if you made all clubs in Div 1 field U18s Res and Seniors you will have 3 games of footy at all matches. Which will increase club revenue and improve crowds. (with money you could put fences up and charge a gate, or keep out trouble makers)

Just trying to start a debate.

Dont like the idea of putting fences up and charging gates. Council's will not let fences be put up at reserves; it is against the general trend. Last one i heard was that they were looking to pull down the external fence at Yarraville, not sure of the truth to this though.

It would be great for all div one teams to have U'18 teams all in the one comp. Three games of footy on the one day is more like the country model and would create a greater club atmosphere. However, as you say, there are teams like Werribee and williamstown who field strong U18 teams but dont field senior teams. It would be a tough job for the people at headquarters to juggle the fixture to have the 18's playing at the same ground as the seniors and reserves.

If starting a clean slate, would noth footscray be a stronger on field team than West Footscray? Off field the Devils would be well ahead.

How are heights looking for 09. Retained the list so far? and word on the new coach? potential recruits?

Hoppers- has a new assistant coach signed with SANFL pedigree?

heights lookin positive at this stage travvy. 19 of the 21 premiership players retained, a coach has just about been appointed, and recruits are in the process. looking forward to the challenge of staying up in div 1 for a number of years.

care to let the bigfooty world know any hints of such recruits in the process? and the possible coach on the way? i know everyone says that the only prob with the heights situation is the $$$$$$ side of it but hope they really do give it a crack and stay up. :thumbsu:

Also pretty upset about losing two of the best grounds in divy 1 over the last two years in yarra/parkside if things keep going the way they are regarding water some grounds might not even be fit to play on at all next season as there were some grounds this season that were how do you say "borderline" this year.

I heard you were in the mix cork.................word is you know a few of
the boys down at heights and were interested in making the move along
with a few other boys. Any truth to this?

It was tonight, and i'm very happy to say.......NOT GUILTY

I believe i had a very fair hearing, something i was worried about.
Now what actually happened on the day, with the fights in the crowd was very dissapointing for everyone involved in the wrfl, but to blame me for those actions of people that were drunk in the crowd was off the mark,
I understand the wrfl had to act and are dissapointed and embarresses for what happened on the day and i hold no grudge towards them.
Hopefully now the league and all the clubs with in the wrfl can go about giving the people and media positive things to talk about, when the wrfl is spoken about.
We all want the wrfl to grow in a positive way and attract better players at senior level and more juniors to all clubs in the wrfl and the best way to do that is to play good clean footy and for all the clubs to encourage the supporters to behave in an apropriate manner.

Looking forward to the off season/ pre season and expect the colts to be back and doing all they can to be in the grand final again.....but hopefully winning GO COLTS

well done good stuff..........:thumbsu:

Happens at most clubs where some of the young guys (and their friends, parents etc) think it is their right to play seniors. If you are good enough you will play. Just might have to wait a little longer at a club like Spotswood.

I was at the GF and the two young guys for Spotty were their worst performed players on the day, so youth is not always the answer.

just interested, who where ports 2 worst performers

Jamie time you pulled your head in. I'm spotty green and gold and going no where, and looking forward to coming back next year. And i haven't forgotten some of the things you posted this year!
will be great to see u back in action monty, twos at spotty will have to be better than second divi at feralville..lol..but theres no cash in the twos take it while u can

yeh would agree

strongbow come on you know thats not true your only "stirring the pot"

you should have said no rock that was an amazing display of leadership and one of the best games you'd seen him play and its not his fault they lost, now that would have cheered him up a bit.:D

its sliceing the oranges,as for the snakes there for me

Jamie if your going to get on here and give out pot shots at people, try learning how to spell. Haven't you been told there is no 'e' when using 'ing'. The word is spelt 'slicing'. As for me playing 2's if that is all i am capable of so be it, but I'm pretty confident i can still mix it with the big boy's. Funny how you speak as if you can, yet you never have and have actually failed to turn into one yet.

PICMAN, the word getting around is that every time you and douglas morris are together, big doug has to do all the work. You refuse to climb a ladder and just give dougie orders....hahahah

I happened to meet Dougie Snr a while back and Picman is probably sending him up the ladder to stop him talking !!
