What are you currently playing?

I've been contemplating buying it for the era's mode.

What do you think of the game? I'm far more reserved buying sports games these days as they just often feel like $100 roster updates.

It's fun and frustrating at the same time. 2k are like a needy girlfriend who cracks the shits if you're not with them every moment of the day, so they have ridiculously long grinds for anything worthwhile.

Shooting is quite hard this year and post defense is just not a thing at all. Complete opposite to last year.

I pretty much only play myteam as the collector side of it is what pulls me in. Era mode is fun, but wouldn't be enough for me to buy the game just for that.

How does era's work in terms of continuity?

The only negative is I reckon there are about 10 real life players every draft and the rest are fake names usually like Magic Jordan etc but the positive is you can download rosters made by others. Utah Jazz ended up winning the lottery 2 years in a row and drafted Lebron then Dwight Howard and ended up winning the championship the next year.

I play a handful of games throughout the season and generally try and play some of the play offs if I make it. I automate a lot of things like free agency etc and it was bloody annoying at the start when I would lose decent players to FA as I didn't realise it.

Played and completed all 5 Blackwell games. A really great point and click series. Puzzles weren't too difficult either which was ideal for me. Great characters and story!

Onto Valfaris. Difficult platformer, but not too difficult that it feels impossible to get through. Does have its moments where things can take a fair few attempts. Nice art style and decent bosses too. Enjoying it.

knocked off Tales of Arise last weekend, pretty good game all up. holy shit the last dungeon was a slog though.

Been playing a bit of Conan Exiles.

They've finally put sorcery in, and the various patches since I last looked at it - would've been about 12 months, if not a little longer - have eased life only a lot for console gamers. They've added a creative mode, and that's just the best; instead of needing to craft the parts you needed even on an offline server with server admin active, you can just use a craftsman's hammer and cycle through a building menu.

Building citadels is just so, so much easier than it used to be. And that was the part of the game I liked. I will say, the thrall system is still a major turnoff, but I'm slowly coming around to it as a gameplay concept. You're playing as a barbarian, in an environment in which no-one within can ever truly die; you're surrounded by threats, and the people you enslave would kill you if you didn't fight back.

Just installed Siptah, and I hear there's an alternative to the Wheel of Pain in that for people with similar qualms. It's also a bit interesting that I have less issue with sacrificing the thralls on a sorcery sacrificial stone than I do with enslaving them.

Not really.

I like how it's gone from being an Unreal Engine demonstration to maybe / potentially the best 3D Sonic game. I hope it does well, just after all the original backlash and the developers backing themselves since back then.
