Is there anyone here with good taste that can recommend a multiplayer game or a few that are worthwhile?

360 I had Halo, COD etc. PS4 I had Rainbow Six, Battlefield. Now on PS5 my group and I have flip flopped between so many games and haven’t stuck to any of them.
I think with mates, Hell Helldivers 2 is a good shout. Squads, vs aliens, friendly fire.

Crime boss is also free with ps+. We've been diving into that, can I crease difficulty and do heists etc.

Heaps of us played Helldivers 2, I put about 30-50 hours into it but the rest have finished their time with it.

Trying to get some of them into Halo MCC.

I would agree but it's definitely an acquired taste. If you're after constant stimulation and action and don't really care for immersion, you're gonna bounce off it within 5 hours.
Don't think that's so much the problem - I'm about to welcome our 2nd child next month and I don't know how smart it is to start a big long storied game just before that happens and I get even less time to play haha. I've heard it's a massive game?

Don't mind it so much with GTA as I already know that story. Do want to get to RDR2 at some point though.

It is big but it also depends on how much exploration you want to do as well as how many of the side quests you do.

If it's an enjoyable game, absolutely all of it.

Which sounds like it applies in this instance.

Put it this way, I don't replay the story. I have a save file I downloaded that is at the end of the epilogue with nothing done except for the bare minimum to get through the story. I like going back and doing side quests but in particular the hunting.

it's all over mate

UFO 50. I've only played around with Barbuta and Bug Hunter so far. Barbuta is interesting, but I need to return to it when I'm in mood for a cerebral platformer. Bug Hunter is ridiculously addictive and I probably would've paid full price for it alone.

Picked up GTA V and RDR2 for $56.

Played 2 hours of GTA and forgot how good it was. Will definitely work my way through playing this again and enjoy it immensely no doubt.
Can you do multiple saves on GTA? I re downloaded it but found it took me straight back to the end of my completed save. Not sure I want to delete that if I can avoid it.

Yeah you can have multiple save files. Make sure to save your previous playthrough of the game and it won’t delete it when you do a new game.

Finished up MW 3 Campaign (disappointing) and fired up GTA 5. Ive never played it before and **** me it's so overwhelming. Opening is great but now I'm doing some pretty shit boring missions such as towing an abandoned car. I get it, I've just started so I know its going to be great but I'm quite impatient and want to get into robbing shops, stealing cars, apparently trade on the stock market etc. Ill stick with it as I've never heard a bad thing, just guess its a slow burn start.

Anyone got any tips for GTA 5 beginners?

Can't remember if it was in this thread I mentioned it, but my LAN party is happening this weekend, on Monday (a public holiday here in WA).

My wife and our boys are heading up norf with her parents for the week (school holidays) leaving me home alone. Super grateful for that, not really interested in heading up norf (I'm more of a down south kinda guy when it comes to holidays in WA). Taken the week off work for some me time too. Did something similar for my wife last Christmas, put her up in a hotel to be pampered with room service etc while I had the boys. Parents will understand. You need a break sometimes!

Anyway, here are the games I've asked the crew to buy and/or install:

Battlefield 2
Borderlands 2
Company of Heroes
Dawn of War
Age of Empires 2
Counterstrike 2
Quake
Unreal Tournament 2004
Team Fortress 2
Trackmania

Some free, and most old so cheap! Not all of them are available any more which sucks (UT for one, maybe Battlefield too) but I've installed them anyway. There's a Dawn of War sale on at the moment so that was nice timing. Probably won't have time to play them all, but we have options. Making sure the consoles are up to date too, got Mario Kart on the Switch, a bunch of fighting games on Xbox. I'm the only one into sports games so we probably won't play FIFA etc.

One of the crew sent invites to the rest of us for Deadlock too, so we'll give that a bash, and they also suggested Overwatch 2.

Gonna order pizza and Mountain Dew for the perfect re-enactment :D

I'll take photos and share them on Monday.

Just enjoy it. Google Helicopter locations and grab one and just fly around the map.

There is a lot to do, and there's never anything not to do.

Definitely not slow burn, things pick up quickly.

Upgraded GPU and monitor to a 4070 Super and an ok-ish 27" 1440p LG monitor and started Far Cry 6 and Dead Space remake. Wow! Everything maxed out graphically, etc. Both games look absolutely stunning. Blown away really.

As for the games themselves,

Far Cry 6 - not sure what all the hate is about over this game. It's not too bad at all. I have enjoyed doing all the Far Cry games to 100% and it's kinda disappointing they didn't really cater towards that so much this time around. No achevievements on Steam is another bummer, but big map and plenty to do like treasures hunts, etc. Good game overall.

Dead Space remake - They did a great job with this! The atmosphere is quite unnerving. I will say, enemies seem way more spongy in this compared to the original.

Got Resident Evil 2, 3, 7, and 8, Ghost of Tsushima, The Callisto Protocol, Cyberpunk 2077, and DOOM Eternal to come afterwards, so they'll all keep me going until next year, haha.

Actually, prior to the upgrade I played Song of Horror which was a really amazing horror. It had me on edge the entire game. Couldn't recommend it enough if you like your Resident Evil, Silent Hill types with the fixed camera angle.
