I've never posted in this unseemly thread - and just as well, considering the above post. 
I've always felt that underwear was rather like religion and politics -a private matter. But I know that many of you had a good time in here, recording the garish or subtle details of your nether-things. And it was all thanks to WakeUpTaz.
He's gone now. He's sworn off BF for the sake of his studies, and quite rightly so. The boy's a scholar, even if he did hate Pride and Prejudice. But I miss him. He has a very distinct personality. He's very bright, full of energy and strong opinions, but he was also willing to listen and debate. There's an empty little spot in my BF consciousness where WUT should be. I hope he comes back at the end of the year, for a while at least.

this is a sad day.
one of my favourite pair of boxers. about a month ago i wore it the wrong way by accident and it caused a giant rip in them when i bent over, yet i still wore them. and now i sent it down for laundry and the guy comes and brings it back to me and says this one is damaged, would you like me to throw it away?? i was too embarresed to say "no, wash it i want to keep it."
so he threw it away
oh well, i have three other pairs just like it

No Godfrey, just do what I do when they get holes in them. Give them to Snag to sew. She's very handy! She'll also darn socks if the price is right!
There are many, many things I could say in response to this, and to God's comment above, but I will just state that life is much too short to waste on mending underwear. There's an old Belfast saying; Fur coat and no knickers - I think that's what we have here.
Why?????? Why would anyone wear daggy daks? You may not always be able to afford a new shirt, or dress or trousers, but surely you can afford new underdaks? How can you bear to put old things with holes and sagging elastic next to your flesh?????
And as for socks.....you have to accept that they only last for a short time. Socks are expendable. No one darns socks these days. But clean old socks are very handy for dusting skirting boards, architraves, picture frames etc, so you can, in a sense, get some extra use of of them. But then you throw them away.
Tell you what; next time you're off to the pub or off-licence, just extract about $20 from the sum to be expended and set it aside for socks or undies. That way, you'll never go bare-arsed again.

Excellent advice Snag! You're the Martha Stewart of the Magpies board! I wore another pair of loose elastic undies yesterday. Man, the hoiking required to maintain them at a decent level.... Snag if you're heading to Target anytime soon, can you pick me up a couple of pairs?

God forbid! Martha Stewart may know how to pickle goji berries and how to turn an old pair of socks into a dog's overcoat, but she also a liar and a thief - and the hair, the make-up, the phoney smile - spare me that comparison.
And no, go get your own necessities. BF time is fun time for me. When I'm on here, I'm strictly one of the boys.
