I thought it was pathetic, yes Leon didn't play well on the day but his season overall was his best yet and how bloody ungrateful were the people who pulled that shyte.

Leon brought it upon himself imo.

Those bullshits articles about how he wanted to improve his output after that qualifying final or whatever was just stupid. No idea why he publicly said all of it.

I hate the way we as a support base tend to single out players, (not every supporter mind you, just a certain group) you don't lose by such a margin due to one or two players, it's the team as a whole as well as the coach that lost the game. I mean, I know we as supporters can get disappointed and frustrated but I just wonder how that kind of behaviour is in any way constructive.

So yeah, certainly not a fan of that kind of thing.

agree.

he did not want to be involved in a contest in all our finals games he was hoping the ball would come to him.
very poor and an All- Australian should be better, i would not be surprised if he asks to be traded back home.

I'm glad someone brought this up.

I can't say I was expecting it nor that I really approve of it. It's one thing to bag a player from the stands when you know they can't hear you. It's another to jeer in unison, if for anything (their feelings aside), because it may have such an effect on them that it could make their game worse.

On the same token, it's a bit like a really quick survey of 'who's disappointed with this persons form?' and if the club hadn't addressed it before hand, I'm sure they will now.

I think he deserved it. He was pathetic in the finals and deserves a big kick up the arse. The supporters are the Collingwood Football Club and we deserve better efforts from him, Mick has stuck by him and he still hasn't delivered.I'm hoping he was injured because if he wasn't it was piss weak what he brought on Saturday night.

From where I was sitting in the lower level of the Ponsford, which was primarily made up of pies fans, I could barely see or hear anyone around me giving Leon the bronx. The stand was pretty quiet at this stage. I was pretty shocked to hear it so I had a good look around the area and the only guy I saw do it was a cats fan.

The above is an observation not an opinion.

Based on that my bet is that it was the cats fans making most of the noise.

On the top deck where I was it was definitely a throng of Collingwood supporters. It was all around me.

The coaches obviously cant get through to Leon re-big games nor his team mates or anyone else.
It was a collective message from the crowd saying we need more from you if you are going to wear that jumper, had no issue with it one bit.

I am still undecided.

We have to wait a year to see how he responds however.

This.

This is a test of his character and how he responds.

Transformed himself into a gun footballer over the last few seasons when he had his doubters with his back to the wall.

Hopefully he can hit back at his critics next season.

The thing that pissed me off about the "bronx" cheer was that I'd say more then 1/2 of the people that did it were Geelong supporters, in fact I know they were.

I was sitting in a fairly large contingent of Collingwood supporters and not one gave the "cheer".

To hear Kevin Bartlett on SEN say it was rough for the Collingwood supporters to do so was the most inaccurate statement this year.

For the record, I would never treat a Collingwood player like that, especially when we know they are injured or carrying an injury.

Small forwards do not perform in finals, unless they can also play midfield, Leon's injury restricted him from doing so, making him almost irrelevant.

I was a bit surprised by it, and I didn't join in, that's for sure. Having said that, I guess I can see where people are coming from on the matter.

Lets not be soft. It was simply a bronx cheer, its not a big deal, no-one was making racist comments ect. Woop di doo if he copped some sarcastic cheers.

As smiddaz123 pointed out, he poured fuel into the fire by coming out and stating he wanted to improve after the Qualifying final, and he didn't get any better. I agree and acknowledge that players like Didak and Davis need Pendlebury to do the inside work for their own games to be better but those two really did disappoint in this final series, whether they had a good year or not, its in finals when players are made or discarded, especially in Malthouse's book. At least Didak did have little bursts in a couple of games where he seemed like he wanted to play.

Harsh, but seeing whats thrown up by other clubs wouldn't be a bad idea, even if no trade is arranged, at least it'll make him realise he is expendable, and he can't sit on his hands when the heat turns up. You expect alot more than that from a senior player, and it sets a shitty example for the younger players around you, all 12 of them off the 22, so thats alot of younger players you influence through your efforts.

If it hurt him

Good

he played ****en weak football for month, deserves all the criticism he gets

Weak as P***.

Bet you were cheering the loudest during the year when Leon helped us get over line.... and now here you are turning on him. Sure he had a poor finals series but aside from the second half against the Crows he had the majority of the team with him.

Better rethink that Collingwood Defender tag.

He got given 8 years to harden up and play reasonably in Home and away

he told us all year and all september how he wants to perform in finals

What exactly did he give us this september? if he was inured he shouldn't have played, he played and not only did he play poorly he didnt even try and put in effort no hard running, everything fl;ashy one handed crap, no hard tackling, he was shown up for a 3rd year player in dick

I didnt bronx cheer him, i sat sullen, quiet cursing to myself. I wont defend him if thats the best he can offer when the heat is on though

if he really does want to go back west.... perhaps an offer for kerr could be an option
Lol...

I don't know my opinion on it, sometimes supporters get caught up in the moment and their passion leads them to do things like this, I know i've done it in the past when we're losing to the point of embarrassment. Hopefully it has some kind of effect on him, he's always shit in the finals, its ****in weird.

get ****ed mate

you have no ****en idea, please dont try and tell me how to support. Leon deserves all the criticism he cops

Thats just a strange thing to say.
Ive defended leon alot over his career, my old man is a massive leon hater always said he will go missing when the pressure goes up

This finals series when we needed him most he went walkies and gave us nothing.

He was shown up by dick this finals series, nuff said
