Nice… match worn in the NEAFL those were too, unlike most one off guernseys the reserves wore them too that week.

Yeah I wasn't expecting it to have been worn, but when I picked it up at the shop it stunk to high heaven. God it was bad. Probably sacrilege on match worns, but I gave it a light wash.

Hi Guys,

I have this Hawthorn 2006 heritage guernsey. Trying to determine if it is player issue or not. All numbers and logos and sublimated. The material feels a lot more stretchy than on your typical retails. It's definitely 2nd hand, so the branding on the inside has worn off mostly. Thoughts?

Ok, so this is the 2nd one. All logos and numbers are sublimated. There is the AFL logo watermarked/embossed all over the guernsey. The tag on the inside says "AFL Licensed Product". It's the tag that makes me think just a retail. Thoughts?

Well I think this jumper was first used in 2006. I guess there is the possibility that the Hawks used this in 2007? When did the heritage rounds last happen?

It's hard to tell from that photo. But from any sort of distance, those pinstripes are indistinguishable. I'll have to check the front AFL logo when I get home. But I am pretty certain it is just AFL logo and not the Heritage Round logo. So leads me to believe 2007.

TheBug personally, I would keep an open mind to it possibly being a prototype.

I'd say player issue for sure. If the numbers are sublimated, afl logo at the bottom of each number (started 07, pics above show that guernsey as the hawks heritage one for 07) No tag inside the collar, before the GPS pockets came in they just had the puma stuff on the inside of the fabric, no tag for player issues. If it has the Hawks logo watermarked throughout the fabric then I would say it's 100% a player issue.

While we are on Hawks jumpers. I picked this up the other day. Its a 2006 jumper. Looks to be a player issue?, number sublimated, hawks logo water marked over it.
But cant find any record of Hawthorn wearing brown numbers with no stripes on the back. They switched to black numbers in 2006 with the no stripes.

Just thought I'd put this up in here. I got my Peter matera 94 Guernsey earlier in the year. I was told it was match worn, actually finals worn, but I've been through all of this before. What I found today is a pic of Matera in what looks like to me, the exact guernsey I own.


To me it looks like the exact same shape Eagle head, plus the "G" in the Eagles text is in the same position, top slightly higher than the "A" & the "L". I figure with the text and the head being sewn into each guernsey, they would probably all look slightly different, so I'm pretty sure this pic is him wearing this guernsey. What do you guys reckon???

I honestly reckon it's different. The inner edges of the Eagle head on the jumper that Matera is wearing seem a lot more clean, consistent and proportionate

Yeah the main thing that got me thinking it was the same was the "G" but also the top part of the eagles head that makes the eye, looks very similar, almost slanty. I've seen a few of these from their time, and they do all look different, so for these 2 pics to look so similar made me think it might be the same one.
