Discussion What Footy Jumpers/Sports Uniforms Do You Own?

While I do love the rounded CFC from the 2010s for nostalgia and branding purposes, the current monogram is bold and strong to me. It's a perfect mix of traditional, yet modernised for this era. The fans literally voted this design in so those several fans should have made their voices heard. If you want to talk about symmetry though, look how aligned the 'F' is in the 150th logo. The top of the 'F' is too far to the right, and the bottom of the F is too far to the left! So symmetry is not what makes a great logo. It's not 'perfect', and that's okay.

As a younger fan, I reeeeally dislike that 70s monogram you've attached. It just looks tacky to me. Yes the Cs are symmetrical, but it's just not how Carlton wants to represent itself these days. We have consistent branding now, let's hope it stays around for a while.

Mods, should we move this discussion to a more relevant thread?
Point taken. We agree to disagree.

Those fans I talked about voted for the block design, however they were expecting to see an interlocking cloth monogram on the jumper. Now they regret their decision.

FWIW: I still think you guys have the best jumper in the competition.

It’s a good looking top, but the pin striped woolen jumpers in the 1970’s, and early 1980’s, never had pin stripes on the sleeves.

The sleeveless version looks awesome. In fact this is my favorite Collingwood jumper of the modern era. It looks like their ones from 1977.
Guernseys seem to have gone shinier again in the past 5-10 years ago, a bit like they were in the early 2000s.

Got myself a 2013ish Carlton home longsleeve from an op shop. $20.
Missed it the first two times I looked at the rack, and then someone put it up at the front of the rack so I found it.

Thank you random citizen!

I found this in an op shop on Friday.
The only good thing about it is the interlocking monogram. Everything is heat pressed. Australia was originally heat pressed higher up, as there is a residual outline. It’s very cheaply made. I can’t believe that someone would have paid over $100 for this at one stage. Who is Rooney? Why would anyone get their surname on a jersey?

People are selling Carlton jumpers like these on eBay, with heat pressed numbers, sans gps pouches, claiming they are player issue jumpers.

I got it from the same op shop that I found Darcy Lang’s “blue out” training jersey, and Tom Liberatore’s training jersey.

I don’t like Melbourne but your collection is impressive, especially the ones from the 1970’s.

So for some context here, I do a big grand final day party every year, 40-50 people, and the dress code is “must wear a footy jumper” first year I realised a heap of our friends don’t have footy jumpers and I had a few spares. I started building a bit of a collection and decided I’d get every team for variety and to ensure the actual grand finallists have representation every year. Noting as above my actual dogs jumper and my actual Essendon jumper are still with people (I get asked to borrow jumpers often cause all my mates know I have them).

The Bears jumper is a fake. The VFL never had sublimated logos. The jersey should also be woolen.

Bump of a 2 year old post for this… it’s a replica that I paid like $40 for, I’m well aware it’s a fake. Thanks

An original Footscray AFLW match worn jersey. The Mission patch is heat pressed over a sublimated Susan Alberti patch. In my mind this top looks far better than the current one. The current one has too many sponsors, and the red shoulders look ridiculous.

Dunno if I have ever posted these, I'm a massive Werribee Tigers supporter and I'm always on the hunt for anything Werribee but these are all my jumpers so far.

love that tiger head jumper. one of my favorite jumpers ever
So do I. The W is cool but there is something about the tiger head with wings that gets me every time

My latest buy, a Woodville-West Torrens guernsey commemorating the 30th anniversary of the 1993 SANFL premiership victory. There were only enough made for the team, so they are indeed a limited run.

Would have been issued to Daniel Menzel if he stuck around at the club.

Recently consolidated my collection into statement pieces, had a bunch of low level PIs which I’ve moved on.

Have a Dusty match worn clash from 2023 on the way, Richmond auctions are so slow!

My one whale remaining is a PI from the 2017 Grand Final, needle in a haystack job, but it would complete the lot!

2023 MW Jack Riewoldt long sleeve
2023 MW Trent Cotchin
2019 GF PI Patrick Naish
2020 GF PI Oleg Markov
