i golfing circles a brett alison 33 ( points awarded for a 18 handicapper paring a par 3) ,

justin madden 42 (points awarded for a 18 handicapper boeying a par 3 or a scratch maarker parring a par 4),

alex marcou 34 (points awarded for a 18 handicapper boeying a par 3 or a scratch maarker parring a par 4),

alex jesilinko 25 (points awarded for a 32 handicapper birdying a par 3)

are often quoted due to the numbers coming up often when using the stableford scoring system.

as you can imagine the call ox jesalinko is often just a rauciaus after a high handicapper drains a durdy put as it was when he took some of his famous screamers.

even steevie milne 44 gets a call when someone with a shot birdys a par 5!

Had you been sitting on that post for 10 years? Because it's a dandy...............

That is one hell of a 10 year bump. Looks like yo're even trying for ye olde english.

Melbourne the top one is not 31 right now - tainted due to the scumbag.

#9 (Neitz, Trengove), #3 (Lyon), #11 (Stynes), #2 (Flower, Jones), #33 (Farmer, Wonna) and #4 (Watts, Norm Smith)

Most amusing product of the Scully Saga: Melbourne fans bitching about him tarnishing the 31, by taking the money and running. Even though that's precisely what the most decorated 31 at Melbourne did... AND he went on to play at his new club under 31. Funny stuff.

At WC

3 (Mainy, Judd), we have only missed finals when the no.3 is inactive
9 (Cousins on that merit)
17 ( Bluey, Chick)
4 (Suma, Kerr)
Wooshs 24?

I'd take 22 over 42 any day.

Bob Rose, John Greening, Tony Shaw....and that's just off the top of my head.

The bloke wearing it now could easily be in that company by the time he's done as well.

There are arguments for many numbers at Collingwood - but if you ask any diehard supporter the most revered number is #42

You realise just how bad and irrelevant Melbourne have been over the past 40 years when you see a post like this.

Watts and Norm Smith

Not only has Watts done nothing to enhance the legacy (which is arguable seeing as NS was famous for coaching, not playing) but the poster can't even think of another worthy name to put in.

Farmer and Wonna as well. **** me. Melbourne's only had two good players since Barassi. Flower and Stynes. It's dire.

Well Farmer was the sensation and was the reason Wonna took 33 IIRC. There have been others - Viney at 12, Junior at 23, Robbo at 24, but the ones most remembered are the captains.

There hasn't been a decent #4 since Norm Smith though, and NS was the reason why Watts was given the number.

It depends on how you remember players. Hell, I don't even remember what number Woewodin wore.

Definitely 3 has had some champs wear it, lets hope Gaff continues it.
9 with Cousins and now Naita taking it from him
