Even though last night was one of the best and loudest Hawthorn crowds i have ever heard, in the social club seats (level 2 Northern Stand) where we sit, it was a almost silent. There was about 20 - 50 of us going mental and trying to start chants etc in the 3rd and 4th qtr, while the majority (prob around 1000 or so) sat their like old stiffs. It was a big game, big viewing audience, playing the best team in the land etc but these so called fans show F_all passion! I can't understand how people can go to a game and not get behind the boys:thumbsdown: They should just stay at home and watch it on the tube with Bruce and Dennis! When the Geelong fans started up in the last quarter, they were as loud as i have ever heard! Similar thing happened in the final last year with the Roos fans. Good on them but for some reason the old stiffs we have as supporters can't be motivated to the same level?
Maybe i am being a bit over the top, but i was really disgusted by they lack of passion:thumbsdown:

Beckers, Not sure where you were sitting but we are near the back in N52 and there were quite a few near us getting right into it. As for myself I can barely talk and my throat feels as dry as cocky's cage.

Keep up the good work... people will get on board. :)

was going to post a thread asking who here has no voice left after last night. i'll pose the question here.

who has no voice left? :p

I sat q18 and I did not see one person withing 20 metres of me chant at all. Where's the passion people!?

That is what i am talking about. There were sections of the Hawthorn crowd that were fantastic but other sections that were silent. Should have been much louder! WHERE IS THE PASSION?

...and i lost my voice somewhere in the second quarter!!!:)

.

I must have been at a different game. I was quite inspired by the display of passion of Hawks supporters around me. Mind you there were no Cats amongst us at the Kennedy Club but I thought our presence at the 'G' was much stronger than Geelong's - bearing in mind that it was our home game.

Actually I am quite pleased with just where we are at supporter-wise as I go back to days when Hawthorn was quite unfashionable. VFL football was all about Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton, Richmond, Melbourne and Geelong.

AFL football, 2008: Hawthorn is very fashionable thank you very much - to say the least!

I think you were just in a different section of the ground. Is Kennedy Club still in the Great Southern Stand? I sat there when the Social Club was over that side but for the past 2 seasons we have been in the Northern stand. We could hear lots of noise coming from over that side (as hawkette pointed out) but it was fairly subdued where we were! People were just starting at us like we were lepers when we were up on our feet cheering and high fiveing!

Well, if me and the missus ever sit in our seats, add two more voices.

M10 was a great choice. Might go back to standing every week (reminds me of Princes Park days), but keep the reserved seat just in case. M52 might be better than our current N52 next year.

I was proud that our supporters a) outnumbered them and b) went mental from start to finish.

Lift your game N52! :)
