Okay, given the freakish success of the last two week ends with out Jack and a proper second key forward, have we unearthed a game plan so unorthodox, that it just might work?
I have been thinking about this. Should Jack move to CHF and be that exit kick 70m out from defence and the entry target 60-70m out, leaving Martin, Caddy and Coach to play at FF rotating through with the big blokes Soldo and Nank resting in the pocket?
It makes us bloody hard to match up on, and suits quick ball movement into the forward line and the additional pressure as we lock it in. Thoughts?
Not completely unorthodox as the WB won the flag only 12m ago with not dissimilar setup. I gotta be frank I was worried about jr8 absense however the result underlines that our small/med are better than most have given them credit for it also reminds that our supply line is a formidable one that provides no end of scoring ops, 30shots last week, 28 yesterday . I actually think it spooks defences not knowing where to focus their attention , with Jack they know where a lot of e tries will be channeled , without we were pretty delicate now we went forward . It's great know how pre finals and will position us well

I vote we send him back in time to warn Nathan Brown to wear a leg brace against Melbourne in 2005.

When a good forward averages < 2 contested marks per game these days (and half of them are just body-on-body), you don't need a 6'6" gorilla in the goalsquare anymore. You want one for the desperation kick forward when there's no open option - he's there to at least make a contest, bring the ball to ground and keep the smart defenders who pick off attacks (like Harry Taylor etc) honest.

What you need up forward is smart, creative players. Jack is our smartest player. The fact that he can also take a pack mark now and then is a bonus.

Careful what you wish for...

I travelled back in time to do that exact thing and in that reality we folded.

The problem was we made finals so they extended Wallet for 10 years, then we made finals again and he got another 10 years. By the time he was finished there wasn't a player under 30 on the list. The supporters were still there but the AFL relocated us to North Korea, to be known as the North Korean Ballistics....
