What will collingwood blame next year?

Being an unbiased supporter I think collingwoods draw is ok, Essendons draw is also ok, If you are good enough to play finals you have to be better than half the comp and all sides have the same chance, me being essendon now realises that this chance has dropped a bit by playing adelaide in adelaide to start. It may take 4 weeks to recoved from that, it did last season. Any team that stays relatively injury free is a chance at finals. Stats over the past 4 years show that one of the bottom 4 teams will rocket up the ladder into the finals somewhere, injuries from last year and the coming year will determine that. Essendon and Brisbane has the worst runs last year from them sides.

Collingwood is rebuidling (like most Victorian sides) that will be their reason for next year and should be allowed as other clubs have used it for years.

And yes I am a true bomber, been a member for 23 years.

Can't be the draw that's for sure. Very nice again for the pies. 18 games in melbourne with 15 at the G.

your obsession with Collingwood borders on psychotic. You really have some issues you should seek help for. Either that or you're just a total tosser. Or it could be both!!

Essendon had the same amount of games at the MCG and travelled outside Victoria exactly the same amount of times (4) as Collingwood did in 2006.
Bombers finished 15th.
Pies finished 5th.
No logic there.
You see, it doesn't matter how easy or hard a match is perceived to be, you actually have to win it to be any good.
Is playing the Demons at the 'G going to be an easy game? What about Bulldogs at the 'G? Easy?
What about an improving Richmond, will that be a walk in the park?

Anyway, you foolish bunch of anti-Collingwood ostriches with your heads stuck in the sand. It's your own penny-less Melbourne-based clubs that lobby the AFL for home games against the Pies each year....so if you perceive them to have a soft draw its your own fault...SUFFER.

I am sure that the so called Greatest AFL club going would want to take its great llist of talented footballers around the country and increase their membership base. But that would mean you would really need to improve on your 11-30 record when travelling interstate over the last 10 years. Only way the Pies can be a success is playing a heap of games in Melbourne and maybe winning the odd 1 interstate every year.

Just who is the ostrich with their head in the sand. Finished the year 5th and yet play only 3 of last years TOP 8 Twice. Yet the Premiers, Runners Up, The Dogs(who beat the Pies in the Finals), The Saints, (th PLaced Richmond, Melbourne, Fremantle, 15th Placed Essendon all play Top 8 teams twice. I would much prefer playing Top 8 sides twice and miss the finals than have a soft draw again and get in and lose.

Also if the Pies were hit with the Same Draw as the Tigers you could guarantee their would be blood spilled at AFL House with 2 straight games at AAMI. Travel Rounds 2, 6, 9 and 12 then have 10 games in Melbourne to end the year. Hell if the Pies don't make the finals they should give the AFL away.

Well i guess i need help 2 then. Collingwood have an easy draw Fact. If anyone that has issues its the afl for giving Collingwood everything. Then ofcourse you for not knowing this.

You're right. Im guilty. I have a serious problem with collingwood receiving a soft draw year in year out whilst other clubs are reamed up the backside. But that's ok. Please continue to lobby the AFL to not play any interstate games at all.

Surely you are used to it by now. Funny how the bigger clubs get listened to?

Dont worry I am guilty as well. It also shows how stupid the Collingwood fans really are. Thats if they can not see the fact year in and year out they suck anderson or someone at the afl and the result and easy fixture.

Complaints about Collingwoods draw;

2 Home Games scheduled at Telstra Dome which is not our home ground.

Only 4 day break before the Anzac day game.

2 Sunday games which is a shocking day for footy.

Tough gig doing up a completely fair draw but youd think the AFL would do better than that.

I concur...

In the cold hard light of day, this comp is a farce.

Fixtured around attendances and media wishlists.

load of rubbish.

On closer inspection of the Draw you will notice that the Mighty Pies play the Eagles in Round 2 at Subiaco then the return match is either 2008 or if they happen to meet in the finals. Do you think the Collingwood Bosses are sitting at the Lexus centre this afternoon saying, 'Damn we only get the Eagles once, it is not fair, we get to play the Wooden spoon team twice, we get the 15th placed side twice, we get the 13th placed side twice. Why don't we play the Premiers twice?'

We are the only Victorian team with a real home ground advantage - and whose fault is that? Your team chose to move from its traditional home ground (with some prodding and $$$ from the AFL), so don't complain about it.

I wasn't complaining...I think it would be great if somehow everyone could still play at their traditional grounds. I was simply pointing out that when the Cats did, they stuffed it up..big time. Especially games against Richmond, Hawks and WCE.

Yes, you beat us this year and made the finals for one week. I hope that week made you happy. We were terrible last year, I admit it, and did all through last year. The upside is that we have a lot of room for improvement in 2007. If we do well, it won't be with an advantageous draw like Collingwood's, however.

And, by the way, it wasn't a joke - Collingwood will get pumped in the first week of the finals in 2007 :p

We seem to have forgotten that the Bulldogs lost by 72points the following week against West Coast.
Even Lindsay Gilbee said in the lead up to the finals that the Doggies really wanted to play Collingwood at the MCG more than anyone else. The Bulldogs threw the kitchen-sink at the Pies that day, and probably would have beaten anyone. Looks like the Dogs put all their 'finals eggs' in one basket....They learn from that.

Think hard - who won the WCE v Collingwood Telstra Dome clash in 2006?

Id just like to congratulate Chief and everyone else in charge, this STILL hasn't been moved to Bay13.

I started a thread a while back called, "Why are we the best/most hated club in the AFL" or something along those lines, and it gets moved to Bay13 within a milli second and I cop it from everyone. Yet tools like these get to start threads like this and it stays on the main board. Yet Collingwood supporters cop it left, right and centre. Then again, no other club gets this much attention in the AFL. So thank you. Im glad the Richmond supporter who started this, had nothing better to do then to start a thread about Collingwood. Quite cute, actually.

By the way, the answer to that is;
WCE and Syd are GF-lists, they can draw big crowds because they are going well.
Why would the AFL want to waste a 2nd game on Coll VS WCE/Syd when they ALREADY would've drawn a big crowd against a team like Richmond.
Get it?

Again and again, us supporters and our club will cop it because of this draw, yet it is simply your clubs that request Collingwood because THEY want the extra $$$$$$$$

If there are any issues with the draw, instead of being pathetic and bitching on BF, write in to your clubs and ask them to start thinking about you (the supporters) instead of thinking about $$$$$$$$.

Theres your answer.

Hey genius...Collingwood just played WCE's twice and Adelaide twice. Last time I checked those two sides finished 1st and 2nd after th H&A season. Oh, and by the way, when we did play Sydney...in Sydney, we won!
Just face it...you bunch of sooks will never be happy, no matter what the draw looks like.

Collingwood are the only team that DON'T put in their requests for the draw.
Sheedy requests ANZAC day and Melbourne want Queens B'day....Infact all Victorian teams have requested to play Coll at home for obvious reasons and they do this every year. After the AFL have given all other VIC clubs their wishes and they've schedulled Coll home games, all that left is COLL 18 games in Melb, 15 at the G and only 4 interstate.

If you have any issues with this, take it up with Ben Buckley from the AFL. Don't direct your jealousy and frustrations at Collingwood....or their supporters.

Ofcourse there is a couple of alternatives....Either jump ship and join the Pies (this would avoid nightmares associated with not being a coll supporter) OR jump ship and join the Woombidgie 3rds in the NT 2-up league.

The royal 'we' haven't forgotten anything about the finals. What are you insinuating - that Collingwood would have beaten WC had they made week 2, possibly going on to win the flag???? LOL

You can live in your dreamworld, including a 'kitchen sink' being thrown at your beloved pies. If the Dogs came to play on Elimination Final day and the Pies didn't, shouldn't you be asking why?

I'm really hoping the Hawks can step it up and make the 8 this year and play Collingwood. Then we'll destroy the soft bastards. Last interstate trip in Round 9 is a joke.

Anybody who plays them in the 1st week of the finals will be montys to win

This isn't trolling. It's a legit question. There's no doubt MM will start ranting sometime next year when he gets a tiny bit of pressure

I think its time the rest of the AFL teams found out Collingwood>>AFL>>the other 14 teams >>richmond :D
