Have a read of this reviewer melt over the sequel and blaming people for enjoying Bright.

**** I’m starting to hate professional reviewers, you can clearly see their agenda in their reviews.

It's a conspiracy theory but I am starting to believe that critics are often panning Netflix stuff because of Rupert's influence. Same thing with our crap NBN.

People need to stop buying into his agenda.

There are way too many of them and the only way they can standout is to be outlandish. Then u have the youtube experts who more and more people are relying on but a lot them have no idea as well.

Its clear how much the big studios are paying these guys as well now. The Last Jedi critics score was gold.

I haven't paid any notice of any movie critics since David and Margaret disappeared off our screens. I come here to BF for most of my movie reviews and tv show recommendations as I've found several posters here to be very astute judges.

He was a flog but occasionally made me laugh with his negative reviews.

Yeah but he was consistent and so was Margaret and you could then judge whether you would like the movie accordingly.

Movie critics wouldn't like Netflix model of not releasing on the big screen, I mean they'd be out of a job

I read they got pisssed coz netflix only had private screenings for Bright at cinemas for press instead on giving out screener copies. Which seems a weird move by netflix

here watch a movie in a cinema that people will watch at home vs watch a movie at home that people will watch in a cinema

sounds about right

Coco - 8/10

Very good and lived up to the reviews. Well told and structured and it was interesting to learn more about the day of the dead.

COCO - FTW

I thought it was utterly brilliant. Very emotional and packs a heartfelt wallop. I was in tears near the end. Loved it. Plus the kids loved it & the music is great and catchy. We've been listening to Un Poco Loco all week.

And on a side note a really wonderful way to open a conversation with your kids about a topic such as death.

Go see it.

Jumanji
Upset THE ROCK didn't yell: "IF YOU SMELLLLLLALALALALALALALA" at any point- opportunity missed. Jack Black v v good. Redhead cute. Movie much better than I thought it would be. Eyebrow/10

Moonlight

"A more important film than a great one" according to a review on Wikipedia- I couldn't say it better myself. Was the overwhelming praise from the "academy" (whatever that's supposed to be) a backlash to criticisms of having ZERO recognition for African-American actors/writers/directors in years prior? Good movie, but felt a little flat at times. Overhyped/10

Spiderman: Homecoming

Well executed but mindless drivel. Someone please retire Tony Stark before his face melts. Entertaining/10

Three Billboards

All over the shop.

A good plot along with a great cast, juxtaposed with a story direction that loses its' way towards the end. Great performances and some solid laughs made for an entertaining film that had a little bit of everything, but ultimately ended up with nothing. Highlights for me were in the performances of the always great Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell basically playing Sam Rockwell.

Some will love it, some will hate it. I pretty much sit somewhere in the middle.

Wind River

Pretty brutal, for some reason I was expecting it to be much slower. Not a huge fan of Jeremy Renner always but I liked him in a more bad-arse role in this. Unforgiving people in even more unforgiving terrain. Loved it 8/10

Con Air

Just-paroled army ranger Cameron Poe (Nicolas Cage) is headed back to his wife (Monica Potter), but must fly home aboard a prison transport flight dubbed "Jailbird" with some of the worst criminals living. Along with Diamond Dog (Ving Rhames) and Baby-O (Mykelti Williamson), genius serial killer Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom (John Malkovich) unleashes a violent escape plot in mid-flight.

Holy shit this movie is so much fun to watch. It's over the top but it doesn't take itself that seriously so it get's away with it. Heaps of action, some one liners, humor when needed and great performances from Malkovich, Cusack, Buscemi and Cage.

The first 15 minutes of setting up the plot felt rushed as **** and I thought "oh shit what am I getting myself into". The last action scene to me was fairly pointless and not needed. Cut the last action scene and further develop the set up to the plot and this would be held in very high regard as a great action film in my opinion.

How is it possible that you've only just watched con air for the first time?

Next you'll be telling me you haven't seen face off.

Ah vintage Cage. Before all the Bees memes.

Monsters Dark Continent.

The sequel to the pretty good Monsters.

Basically they took Monsters, which was a decent concept and turned it into a generic, boring war film with unredeemable characters. It is, without a doubt, one of the most boring films that I've seen in the last 5 years or so. It is true that the few scenes (and there are very few scenes in 119 minutes) have some cool looking monster effects (they don't really do anything though) but overall the film is horribly boring, acted and it's basically just pointless.

Outside of some cool monster effects and a sad cameo from Sofia Boutella (she deserves better than shit like this and The Mummy) I have very little to say about this... there isn't anything in Dark Continent (just watch the first film to see the creatures) that requires you to find this film and watch it.

You could be describing Monsters itself with that review.

Pity is went nowhere by the sounds of it.

Should watch the director cut it’s a totally different film and will make you appreciate the theatrical release lol.

My five year old balled her eyes near the end, walked out saying best day has been bugging me to see it again for the past month.
