The Big Steal -1990

I have been watching a few Ben Mendelson movies lately which led to thinking of this little aussie classic.

Sadly it was harder to find than usual as for some bizarre reason it has never been released on DVD as far as I can tell.

Anyway onto the movie itself. Suprisingly it still holds onto most of its charm and is still pretty funny.

Sreve Bisley is very good as the slimey used car salesman Gordon Farkus.

I have this as my 2nd fav aussie comedy behind The Castle.

7/10

i watched this about 6 months ago after not seeing for over 20 years, its still a great movie, still made me laugh

i dont think its officially been released on DVD, found some copies on ebay

The soundtrack is awesome in this movie. Heart aches listening to these songs takes me back to my childhood

It.

Great. Loved the way they kept the action up all the way through and it wasn't just jump scares with meaningless dialogue in between. Also liked the elements of humour in Pennywise. A very Freddy Kruger aspect of playing with his victims.

8/10

Do you like the fast and furious movies?

I saw two of them and one was quite entertaining, but very forgettable.
I don't know which one that was though.

Baby Driver was very formulaic that requested the soundtrack to drive the movie.
Acting was woeful and totally unbelievable. The term 'annoying' came to mind, but that's just my opinion.

First movie in ages that I just wanted to end and relieved when it finally did.

I got some serious "Stand by Me" vibes from the movie myself. Even the lead kid reminded me of Gordy? Just a little.

Omg- they both had brothers that died too!!!

Snowpiercer - 1/10. Unsure how it was rated highly on rotten tomato
American Sniper - 5/10.

I felt the same way. The clumsily obvious metaphoric evolution through the film was completely overshadowed by the dozens of ridiculous faults/flaws/plot holes that occur with monotonous regularity.
Too far removed from reality to make sense for me, so it left me wondering what I had missed. On reflection, I don't think I missed a huge amount it was just a bad movie.
Watched this again over the weekend. We were right. It is a steaming pile of poo.

Each to their own. Saw Baby Driver at the cinemas and it had me on the edge of my seat. I hated the F&F movies I saw and couldn't wait for them to end. Go figure.
