bloody hell, those would have been freaky.

miss magpie, someone once told me that if you roll a car and come out the other side alive, it's the most exhilerating experience of your life. Is that true? Mind you, I have no desire to actually experience it.

Reading Walshy's story triggered a memory (although completely different) of a time when I feared my life.

In year 9, when I was 14 or 15,I used to go to St Albans after school with friends, there used to be a blond haired boy there that we didn't know, but used to flirt with a bit. And on Friday afternoons we used to go and get pizza from Godfathers. Anyway, this particular Friday must have been the last day of school or something, because only two of us had been to school, and were meeting two other friends at the station. While we were waiting at the station, my friend decided she wanted to get changed, so we went into the toilet to get changed.

She went into a cubicle, but I was only changing my jumper, so I just changed against the wall. Just as I was putting my right arm in the sleeve, with my elbow extended, a blond girl threw open the door, hitting my elbow. I pulled it back and she swore at me for being behind the door (just my elbow was). I mumbled an apology, and then went to the mirror to put some makeup on. "THis place F*CKING STINKS!" she yelled and I politely smiled, not wanting to be conspicuous or anything, because she was obviously on drugs, she had that kind of glassy look in her eyes. She then went out, and my friend in the cubicle said something to me, I walked over there to here her better, and we started talking and laughing, at something completely different.

I was still standing outside the cubicle when another blond girl threw open the door and went straaight towards me. "DID YOU LAUGH AT MY SISTER?!" she screamed at me.
"No." I said, completely confused.
"YOU F*CKING LAUGHED AT MY SISTER!" she screamed. I denied it again. She went back out and I felt relieved, but then they both came in and started yelling again. I, being a particularly stupid 14 year old, chose to be a smartass back to them. I got slapped several times in the five minutes they were yelling at me.

Then they told me they'd get their brother who had a knife. Now I'm pretty sure they were lying about the knife part, but at the time I **** myself. Still didn't stop me from being a smart ass (nowadays I'm the total opposite, I don't know why I reacted that way). five minutes later, their brother, the blond haired boy we used to flirt with, came into the toilet and started kicking and hitting me.

I was on the floor, and they went out again, and I managed to get myself back up (he'd obviously held back a bit), then the older girl (the second one) came back in. and went to talk to me. Finally my friend in the cubicle came out (this is after ten minutes of listening to what was happening to me) and the girl asked her what she was doing and I quickly told her she had nothing to do with it. Then the girl asked me what my name was and I had no idea what to tell her, so my friend told her. She asked me where I lived and my friend told her again "Not anymore you don't" she said, and then went to walk around. Then she changed her mind and turned to me and told me her name, to this day I remember it, she said if I tried to get anyone onto her they'd turn on me. And then she went out.

That was when I burst into tears. 5 minutes later I ran out of the toilets and my friend had a small argument with the three, but I stood with my back turned, not wanting them to see me crying. They saw my shaking and yelled that I'd better not be laughing, and I yelled that I wasn't. They started chasing me, I ran all the way to Godfathers, into the toilets there to clean my face. The owners yelled at us that we had to buy something first, I smoked a full pack of cigarettes that day, and not one since.

a few months later, I saw the first girl around st albans, I freaked, and she came up to me. All she wanted was to know whether I knew where her brother was.

umm it's definately the strangest, people might not believe me but it was as though time slowed down and everythin went blurry, we were only rolling for split seconds but it seemed as though it was for hours. I'll never forget it.

I have too many scary things similar to that, that have happened to me on trains, but im sure people dont want to hear them.

Yeah, that's what I wanted to know. I guess she was scared, still I could have done with a little support.

We're no longer friends for actually quite a similar reason.

The last time I was scared was when I got back from Melbourne early hours Thursday just gone. It's the first time I have been alone in a house for ages, because I got home so late I couldn't pick my dog up till the next day. I heard what sounded like someone trying to break in, normally if I hear noises I just let my dog have the run of the house, but no Kenny, so I got on the computer turned all the lights on & stayed up almost all night. Needless to say I was stuffed all day at work.
