The idea is to bring everyone up to a certain social standard.
Not be divisive and ostracise those that need help with their actions.
Generally that's what community clubs strive for.

So making Greene the captain is like a 3rd grade teacher making Brayden her helper because Brayden is always getting into trouble and the teacher feels like making him her helper would give him a sense of responsibility and self worth?

Then Brayden pulls a knife!

I’m not sure how Steven baker doesn’t get a start. Sharpening studs for the express purpose of cutting someone’s calves
Yeah, since the days of Rodney Grinter, Baker probably dirtiest player in last two decades.
I do not think Baker would have survived a decade or two earlier. People would have been willing to simply flatten him but cannot get away with that with camera's around so his dirty little tactics continued.

A genuine "thug" wouldn't last long in today's AFL. As someone who has watched footy since the 1960s, it does make me laugh sometimes at some of the incidents people refer to these days as "dog acts". Toby Greene is just a player who lacks self discipline on occasion, that's all.

Worth noting that Toby Greene assaulted a security guard in 2014 - he pleaded guilty to this offence and I am told on good authority that there was a settlement (in a substantial sum) as part of a Sentencing Act claim afterwards.

This alone would put him in the top 5 for mine. How many AFL players have pleaded guilty to a substantial assault on a member of the public?
Elija Taylor
Andrew Krackouer
Michael Voss
Simon Black
Fraiser Gehrig
Murray Newman
Daniel Kerr
Leigh Matthews (I guess was in his last football game)

After their careers? Plenty

It isn't on occasion anymore. Seems to have an incident every few weeks.

Chris Lewis
Im surprised he didnt do the Robbie Muir judging by how ashamed the blokes who apologised for they way they insulted him and his family back then.
And it was deliberate ploy to get him to lose his shit.
How far would it go if people where talking about your mother or sister before you flipped your bicky?

Probably in a shorter time then Lewis.

What some people were subjected to was shit-house

targeted?

tell that to Diesel Williams and see if he is happy with all his misdeeds

biting, spitting and touching an umpire in an even slightly aggressive manner are the top 3 holy grails of no goes in our game.

there’s no excuses. None whatsoever.

Yeah righto, agreed.

Shame we haven’t heard from GWS about how they love how Toby plays on the edge.
