Where Is Clive Palmer?

Carlson is like the band member who convinces themselves its them not the band people like and goes solo only to find their solo albums stiffing and ending up on the oldies circuit playing their greatest hits.

Without the backing of Fox Carlson is a very much diminished figure. You'd imagine he wouldn't be dragging his sorry arse around here with a few fringe dwelling whack jobs less than six months out from the US election if there was anything better on offer.
These guys would do anything - and I men literally anything - for a dollar. If the grift pays enough - they'll do it.

The really sad thing about Babet is that even in a place like this where politics is closely followed and discussed he's failed to gain much traction beyond being cited occasionally for his idiocy so he's left to pulling desperate stunt likes this in the hope that someone pays attention to him.

I think even Palmer might disendorse and disassociate from Babet soon.

Intoxicated from the Trump victory (and probably numerous other substances), he might have pushed things too far finally.

Yikes. Surely there is some kind of minimum standards code for politicians?

We simply cant have people like this with a voice in the country. He currently feels enabled.

Doubt it.

Somebody could bring a case of racial discrimination as a result of his language - the RDA covers these things. This happened to Pauline Hanson recently. I think Andrew Bolt is also a convicted racist.

Babet would probably love it however.

I’ve had a browse of the response to this. A few Greens MPs have condemned it but silence from the ALP and the LNP. Easily the most offensive statement ever from an Australian politicians and they don’t care.

A few media articles but it looks as if they’re tapering off, no talkback radio outrage or calls for condemnation from commentators.

I wonder deep down how many are quietly glad Babet is saying things they want to say but are too afraid to?

wheres fat boy you ask - hes on 7.30 report right now ...... sarah ferguson gifting him a pulpit like she did steve bannon a few years back

Fancy sending an official response to this. These people run multi billion dollar organisations, surely they have better things to do with their time.
"That said, the award is a testament to what Rinehart can do without getting out of second gear. She used this year’s National Mining Day event to advocate for shutting down ABC TV, and to demand the public service “cut out expenditure” and “sell the pot plants and artefacts from all the departments and agencies offices”, suggesting they could instead “bring in their own” — so that people like her could have a tax cut, naturally."

I remember an old Ben Elton book "Stark" in which he postulated that for the very wealthy its not enough they can have anything they want and the only way they feel satisfied is ****ing things up for everyone else and making sure they can't have anything.

Big Clive is back!

With this totally apolitical ad telling us to say a prayer before bedtime for starving kids

But don’t worry here he is railing against net zero

Shame, I was sort of hoping he died from the side effects of HCQ, after he took too many of those 30 million pills he bought for humanitarian reasons. Great humanitarian is our Clive.

I generally only watch the commercial FTA channels for two weeks each year - while the AO is on. So it’s always a bit weird to me to see the adverts. Apart from numerous trailers for the abominable (I assume) MAFS, the thing that caught my attention tonight was a sequence of Palmer talking head ads. He definitely seems to be trying the populist approach. The first one reminded us of all the children who go to bed each night hungry. Then a few minutes later, one explaining that Australia needs to build lots more cities using all the empty space we have as a way of bringing down the cost of housing.

So yes, easy to identify concerns. But either no actual solution, or simplistic (and certainly not immediate) solutions.
