No anger here mate, just a slavish devotion to these new rules.

You didn’t win the comp the year before under one coach, ergo you should be expected to win the following year under a new one.

That’s how it works.

Richmond should be morals to win the flag this year. Your new coach inherited a side who should be able to coach itself.

Edit: actually how will this work?
Richmond and the Suns technically both fit the criteria: they both theoretically have new coaches, neither won the flag in 2023, so they should, what, both coach themselves to a title in 2024, using your rock solid criteria?

Your post sounds complex in a weird way. And you haven't said anything about a coach you dislike, which is what the thread is about.

Chris Scott is the coach I dislike the most AND he inherited a dynasty team, Alan Joycing the 2011 flag. Apart from that he has 4 wins and 14 losses in finals against teams finishing top 4. I don't dislike him for the 14 losses, just the 4 wins. :)

So apart from a premiership, he has a premiership and a whole bunch of preliminary finals and another grand final.

Realistically it’s amazing Mick Malthouse hasn’t just won 30-odd flags with the West Coast. Just inheriting flag side after flag side.
Or even more amazing that Woosha didn’t coach West Coast to the 2012 flag.

Your formula seems to indicate that teams can coach themselves to flags the year after copping a hiding in a preliminary final.

So when we ran a train through the eagles in 2011, logically speaking the eagles’ response should have been to, more or less, coach themselves to a flag the year after - is that right?

What's the story to this?
Its a bit facetious, but there is pretty clearly an "in" group and an "out" group at Port, and the "in" group are generally financially linked in greyhound syndicates (senior administrative figures are also involved):

If nothing else I'd just love a coach who wouldn't push this sort of shit on impressionable young men.

You still don't seem to understand what inherit means, even after I posted a clear definition for you. Chris Scott inherited a dynasty team in the midst of its dynasty. It is not even debatable that this was the case. Even in this regard though Scott has been shown up. The last person to inherit a team mid dynasty was Alan Joyce, and he won two flags with that team. Par is probably about 1.5 flags. Scott was therefore below par. But this is somewhat beside the point of him being so dislikeable. :)

No, he just signed on to coach a club like any other coach and he took over a side who finished in the top four and lost a preliminary final by seven goals and contrary to your belief had made no formal overtures to coach itself and had it done so, would not have won the competition, and were it possible to do so, why the f*** are Hardwick or any other multiple flag coach’s efforts so fawned over?

Based on your impenetrably good criteria, a side in the middle of a dynasty doesn’t need coaching.

You can’t make up how f**king stupid your arguments are mate.

What I don't get is how you can have all this anger and hatred inside you and not even make one post about a coach you dislike on a thread asking about coaches you dislike. I mean this thread is taylor-made for your vitriol if ever there was one. There must be one coach you have some reservations about at least? :)

Because it’s not anger and hatred, and as such I literally don’t dislike any of them. Even Hardwick who im sure you’re busting for me to say something nasty about: he’s a gun coach and he’s a human being like all of us

Right, so you couldn't help yourself could you? You just had to bring Hardwick's private life into the conversation. You had to be salacious. You must really really hate the man to want to bring his private affairs into a conversation on a public forum. Imagine euphemistically accusing someone of being a human being.

So I guess that qualifies as a relevant post. :)

Thanks for that. I had heard about various cliques at Port once before but it was long time ago.
I imagine all clubs have something similar.

Sorry what? I literally did the same as he did. I suppose I wanted to bring that up too.

You don’t get to mentally-gymnast your way through another stupid argument mate.

You keep making this deadshit assertion that makes no sense, don’t like getting called out on it, go to any stupid length to make it look intelligent, and then when you get called out on those further assertions you continue the gymnastics.

I don’t dislike any coach. Why the f**k would I?

Now come on Elmer you have to be fair here. I was simply doing as the thread requested and listing the coaches I dislike most with sound reasoning when I was set upon by a hyper-defensive Chris Scott fanboi. :)

I don't particularly like Chris Scott either but he has a pretty damn good coaching CV all things considered.

Right, so you are a hypocrite now as well. And someone who boasts about every shag he gets. :tearsofjoy:

If you don't like any coach, may I politely enquire as to wtf you are doing on this thread that is explicitly about not liking coaches?

If you don't like him then focus on the shit part of his CV Elmer.

He inherited a mid-dynasty team, and once his coaching started to take effect they went 4w 14l v top 4 teams in finals. Though to be fair he has recovered that well, before the weakest year in history - 2022 - that record was 1w 14l.

Where am I being a hypocrite? For someone who’s entire online persona is based upon pretending to be smarter than everyone else, you’re plenty f**ken stupid I’ll give you that.

A example of hypocritical behaviour would be when one condemns someone’s behaviour while concurrently performing said behaviour at the same time.

Sorry to break it to you but saying ‘I don’t have a problem with so and so regardless of what he does professionally or privately’ isn’t being a hypocrite and no matter what moronic angle you try and add to it in order to gain internet brownie points, that won’t change.

Now. Tell us again how Leigh Matthews should never have had to win three flags coaching Brisbane because he should have still been on a 14 flag winning streak from the team he inherited from himself at Collingwood.

Now you are failing to own past behaviour whilst euphemistically accusing others of the same behaviour.

In any event, I think you should have dumped your wife. One thing I can never stand is a woman who catches me out cheating, nobody should need to put up with that.

My favourite part of your post however, is your final paragraph. It is weird, rhetorical, and irrelevant to this thread, and appears to have an underlying seething tone. Can you explain the point of that to us?

You began to criticise Chris Scott’s coaching be writing off one of his premierships as a non-event because he inherited a flag team that could coach itself. Using your logic, every team that wins a comp - considering the team Scott inherited DIDNT win the comp and even THEY could coach themselves, you’d think sides that actually DID win the comp could even better coach themselves - should just show up and win the following season.

So I’m wondering why some of the other iconic coaches in history didn’t do even better. Why hasn’t Hardwick won 6 straight. Seems like it should have been straight forward. He inherited a flag team from himself. Numerous times.

And no, im not failing to own shit, hence I’m on a forum telling an entire community of people for no other reason other than to continually highlight your staggering level of halfwittery that I destroyed my family and I pay the price for it every single day, and that I literally do not dislike or hate any coach.

Keep trying though, you’re doing great 😊
