Post 22 before someone mentioned Gold Coast. Wow.

They were on the brink of finals a few years ago until they had an atrocious run with injuries pretty much until now. Some quality talls, smalls and mids and about to draft a bunch of potential guns, a few of whom might come in and play at a high level right away.

Unless they have a bunch of injuries to key players again I'd be shocked if they didn't challenge for the eight tbh. I reckon they'll give a few teams an absolute belting when they're up and about.

Who are their contested ball winners? Im not sure they can win enough of the pill with Ablett on the slide.

You ve got to look for a team with lots of youngsters who have shown a bit but have loads of room for improvement. A team where those youngsters have proven they can do it in the pressure moments in big games and they are competing for places in the 22 and are hungry for success.

Cheeky shout out to Carlton. I love Bolton's influence. Melbourne and St Kilda should also be right up there. The biggest smokey though has got to be Gold Coast. A bit of a refreshed list and still a good amount of talent. They could have a good season.

Melbourne deserve to be but I feel like they are most likely to go horribly wrong. I'll go GC if they can draft a couple of strong inside mids who can play straight away they'll surprise a few.

Saints will be the big movers. Top 8 certainties next year.

Melbourne should make it but will make a judgement call on them after a few rounds into the season - you just never know.

I reckon the saints are the team that the media will talk into being Top 8 certainties over the summer. They're one Riewoldt injury away from being in the bottom 4 or 5 for mine.

Don't know about seriously challenging but the clubs that should improve the most from last year: Freo, Suns, Saints, Melb, Essendon.

Thinking Freo might be the best bet for a handicap punt (i.e. highest rise from this year).

If St Kilda can win outside Melbourne next year then they should be certainties for finals. Other than them, I'd say Melbourne or Collingwood.

They relied on GA to much, only seemed to win when he played, now he is an injury prone veteran.
