Just bought the entire Benny Hill boxset on DVD. Was visiting my elderly mum last night and she really enjoyed a couple of episodes.

Boy oh Boy the shenanigans on that show definitely wouldn't fly today but tell you what, it's definitely more hilarious and entertaining than most of the post Woke/Cancel Culture produced tV comedies (say post 2020 and beyond) made today.

The skit where Benny Hill was painted up as yellow face portraying Chairman Mao is no doubt racist and definitely offensive by modern standards, yet it had me literally crying tears with laughter.

I am sorry but I really love distasteful/politically incorrect comedies, especially those from a vintage/bygone era.
Yes, those sure were great days when all TV was aimed solely at one broad demographic and everyone else could go hang

Well I am watching a documentary typed thing that is called "I was Prey"

It has just about lost me with the over drawing of explanation after explanation, the show could spend a little more on three stories in one show rather than two that alternate throughout,, and come back with saying the same old words over and over.

Its a pity, because some of the stories are really interesting but the drag out is terrible.
So that'

s what I'm watching at the moment .
But may not be soon.

Finally found Vera, about 5 weeks ago already binged 9 seasons and a few to go.
Gets you in, but Vera is a bit of a smarty pants know all.
Its a good one.

I don't watch heaps of TV, but over the last 6 months I've watched and enjoyed:

Breaking bad (Amazing. Just amazing.)

Curb your enthusiasm (best comedy I've ever seen, knocked off Seinfeld as no. 1 for me)

Entourage (loved season 1-5, 6-8 sucked hard. 8 Was disgusting.)

The Office (American)

Game of Thrones (loved it - my favourite book series)

Community (loved season 1, kind of dropped off imo.)

Inbetweeners (Hilarious)

Any recommendations? Love the comedies obviously, but I've never watched much Drama, and Breaking bad was so freaking good. Help me out!
There is only one Office, its Ricky Gervais for me.
He is a genius, never been able to pick up on the American I've
tried , but never finished an episode. Maybe its me.

But it doesn't fit funny.
But the Yanks do , do sarcasm well, and the Office is deeper than that
the one from Slough.
Inbetweeners is brilliant, and Friday Night Dinner, is just excellent.
Lost one of its cast recently very sad. But the show was very clever.
try it.Oh and their neighbour Jim, crazy.

You might as well start in series 2 when the series comes into its own and they are no longer copying the UK episodes.

The Australian office is unsurprisingly shit , feel like the main character wasn't given a script and is just doing a thank god your here
That's what I was afraid of. Even from the very small amount of preview clips I've seen, it looked awful.

I mean just my opinion , others may love it , just felt like a bad impression attempt.

The female Gareth/Dwight is especially awful.
