AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Last year he played permanent forward for Sydney with injuries to must of their forward line. He didn't light the world on fire but with consistent game time, he did quite well and grew in the role. His currency went up during this time as well. The thing is that he has played this role for Sydney as well. There isn't much mystery there. We know what performances we are going to see from White and it is about what he is producing now. He will have the occasional blinder as he does have talent but I highly doubt we will see much improvement in his consistency. We may see a slight upward trend if he is in the third tall role but I can't help but feel it is not the best structure for our team.
Totally agree with this....Call me weird (okay, maybe just drunk), but most of White's best work has been in contested ball on the wing, and follow-up work after the ruck tap. I think it would be worth experimenting with him as a Jobe-Watson-style tall mid.

I think White needs to be moved to the wing a la M Richardson (who nearly won a Brownlow doing this). I would love to see him roaming the field and crumbing packs. Hunting the contest so to speak. He is so athletic that he'd need a good runner with him but he has size to out mark them (if he can actually catch).
I remember last year at the Swans he played a loose forward/ruck role. He wasn't locked in the 50. He wasn't a "preferred marking target". He was the loose man all over the ground. I think that suits him more than anything I've seen the coaching staff try and force him into.
I rate the bloke as a potential match winner, he just needs to play his game, his way.
