Who are the AA selectors?

maxwell is a very average defender. He is an average kick, is not creative & he only beat defenders b/c he had swan/pendlebury/o'bree infront of him. He's a battler.

can't agree more with you. how can the best defensive unit in the game not have 1 player in the season's best defensive 6? goodwin over goddard as the running quarterback style half back flanker is nothing short of laughable on what i have seen this year. gilbert must have been close and probably lost out to maxwell on the other flank, i reckon i would have given gilbert the nod just despite maxwell having the sort of year that was deserving of being around the mark for selection

and leon's selection in the forward pocket is also a bit baffling - his best football was in the 1st 15-16 rounds when he was playing predominantly a midfield role. he tailed off late in the year when clearly playing injured and being confined to a forward pocket role. would have thought le cras is very stiff

and one other point - dane swan on a half forward flank?? come on what a load of crap, he has been 1 of the top 2 midfielders in the comp all year on whatever analysis you care to choose and should have been selected accordingly. the selectors need to get over their love affair with the likes of joel selwood who clearly had an inferior year in the midfield to swan and must surely be lucky to be in the 22 let alone the 18

You were going so well until your brain snap at the end. Even the players themselves had Selwood in the top 6, and he has to share the ball/game-time with Ablett, Corey, Bartel, Ling, etc.

Give opposition clubs a choice between taking Selwood and Swan, and I guarantee you no-one would be choosing Swan.

Couldn't agree more.
Either Porplyzia or Lecras surely.
Can't half think also that Victorian players have a slight advantage due to media exposure etc.
