You’d have to consider Zac Merret as under rated

He is genuinely in the top 20 - 30 midfielders in the comp now but Hager’s swatted away amongst the flashiness of Tippa, Stringer, Hurley’s numbers, McKenna and Redman’s dash.

Is averaging 29 possessions, 5 clearances and 5 tackles a game on top of 6 score involvements a game.

Genuinely elite numbers in comparison to other high possession winning midfielders in the comp.

He's been rated in the past.

Not sure about this one. Not disagreeing he might be underrated, but if you're labelling him elite I'd say that puts him into overrated territory.

Thinking about this hurt my brain because what you’re saying makes no sense.

‘I’ think his elite, I don’t often see many other people say he is elite therefore he is underrated.

Sorry you don't understand.
He can be considered underrated generally, but if you consider him elite then I'd say you overrated him. Pretty easy.

Harry Himmelberg comes immediately to mind. Don’t understand why he doesn’t get more attention.

Mark Blicsavs
Mark oconner
Dom Sheed
Nick Haynes
Robbie Tarant
Alex Saxton
Caleb Daniel

A lot of defenders really.

Your obviously not on AFL Have Your Say on FaceBook.

Alex Sexton is certainly not underrated by a certain Matt Cooper.

Apparently Alex is the

Macrae.

Is one of the best and most consistent mids in the game. Can't remember him playing a bad game

He had a shocker against the saints two weeks ago.

But I think this actually backs up your point, I was surprised watching it because I think it might be the only bad game I’ve seen him play in about five years. Normal service was resumed on Sunday with a lazy 38.

As to this thread, Gleeson at Essendon springs to mind. He always looks solid to me, intercepting and launching off half back.

Jacob weitering is tracking to be an elite chb. However as he was a #1 pick and had a couple of quiet years after a good first year he is now underrated.

Michael Gibbons has been criminally underrated throughout his career. Overlooked in draft after draft he now looks at home playing every game since debuting. Quick and tough and now getting coaches votes.

To be honest, no players are underrated anymore with the excessive coverage the game gets. Also, players that are 'underrated' are also overrated by virtue of never having their poor games overanalysed like a Danger, Dusty, or anyone else with a big media profile. An example of an overrated, underrated player would be Ben Cunnington in previous years when everyone would rave upon a 38 disposal game but ignore him getting tagged to 15 the corresponding week. Yes I am fun at parties.

He kind of shot himself in the foot with his 2016 season, everyone threw his name up in lights after 20 votes in a wooden spoon team, he had a down year last year but probably back at 2016 level this year & people just expect that of him so think he's rated about right. He's not popular at the moment, stocks are down it seems.
