who do you want as the local rookies

He was undoubtably doing what he was told, but leading forward is a hard gig at 6'1" ish. I didn't mean 'bullying' in a nasty way -- just looked too physically powerful for some of the skinny NT kids trying to defend against him. He was picking up lose balls and pushing off blokes with one arm. Just found it hard to imagine him getting away with that at higher levels against big bodies.

I see what you ment now sorry if it seemed i jumped down your throat. However he did the same things against NSW/ACT and Tasmania. His main game is not as a leading forward though he is a very very good mid. saw him play numerous times in the state league and is very damaging. I don't know why the lions aren't interested but i personally think it will be a decision that will come back to haunt us in a few years.

:thumbsu: Hopefully they know something the rest of us don't. Perhaps it's an attitude thing?

looks like the lenny clark club could become the austin lucy club or even better phil of the future club LOL

how good would it be if brisbane did pick up lucy and he turned out to be a really good full back talk about revenge LOL

He wont ever play fullback i saw him play for bendigo a few times and he would play on third tall at best. He just isnt tall/built enough (and i dont think has the capacity to get to whats needed) to hold down a KP spot.

Not surprising seeing as though you have to nominate for both the PSD and the RD. It'll be interesting to see if any clubs take the punt. I doubt it, but you never know.

So you can't nominate for the rookie draft without nominating for the PSD?

Correct-a-mundo, except I'm assuming international rookies. Happy to be corrected, but I'm 99.9% sure.

Does that apply to everyone. Could clubs pick, for example, Hayden Kiel in the PSD?

Yes. Anyone that has nominated in the last three years can be picked up in both, the PSD and Rookie draft. For the rookie draft they need to be under 23 and minimum 18 years old.

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere but there is no mention of Bushy, Ash or Poss nominating for the PSD. Presumably this means that all 3 are staying, despite the rumours. Can anyone confirm?

I remember Crispy saying that Notting had signed a 2 year deal but I have read nothing in the media. At this late stage one would have to think that they are all staying.

That's right - I had forgotten Crispy's scoop.

Time for an Exodus Watch Update, TBD.

So much for taking members concerns about not communicating with the fans!

All "uncontracted listed players" had to nominate for the PSD a couple of weeks back (28th Nov). I think you could safely assume Pos, Pushy and Ash are staying.

Wasn't their a link to the latest list lodgement somewhere on here that said that they were all staying?

I guess that third list lodgement last week had them all as listed players, so.... yeah :D

Every AFL club has a selection in this meeting. Four clubs have six picks (Brisbane Lions, St Kilda, Sydney and West Coast), while Melbourne has just one choice as it has retained three 2006 rookies - Jace Bode, Daniel Hughes and Shane Neaves - for 2007.

Brisbane and Sydney will also have the opportunity to select 'local' rookies before the meeting begins and expect the Lions to pounce on the likes of Daniel Dzufer (Zillmere Eagles) and Haydyn Kiel (Southport).

And unless claimed in the earlier NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft, names to watch out for in this meeting are Leigh Adams (Eastern Ranges), Nathan Batsanis (Oakleigh Chargers), Nick Smith (Oakleigh Chargers), Alex Lee (Dandenong Stingrays), Ben Ross (Gippsland Power), Jak Kennedy-Hunt (Geelong Falcons), Gavin Grose (Mt Gravatt) and Sam Jacobs (Woodville West Torrens).
