Who do you want to coach next year

I've gone with Voss, and I now want McLean to captain next year.

I would like to get someone who hasnt coached before but has been around a succesful club people like, P.Sumich,M.Voss,G.Mckena maybe J.Longmire but i wouldnt like to have Syd game plan.

I voted for Conolly, just think about it Fremantle have always been underachievers Connolly actually got them to win finals, that makes him a Gun Coach

I agree Conolley is as good as gone at Freo. He would be a perfect fit for the Demons. Has taken Freo to their first Prelim with what i reckon is a fairly weak list. Has also given them a hard edge which would be great at the Demons.

For too long Melbourne has been afraid of going for the safe option. We need to ruthless and daring. Appointing Connoloy would be too easy. Voss is the man

I'd love to see McKenna as coach, Voss, Ratten and Longmire as assistants...but I'm dreaming. As has been said so often, I want a hardass who is willing to make tough decisions. I think McKenna would do that. Not to mention (unlike Voss), he has had experience as an assistant.

i voted for Garry Lyon, because he coached the All-Australian team so he has experience and i think hed do a good job....wouldnt mind Lyon as head coach, Voss as ass. coach and bruce as captain. but chances are that wont happen.

Voted for Guy McKenna. I reckon he has the smarts, the toughness, the experience and he has been in successful and professional clubs.

Wouldn't mind Voss though.

Whoever voted for Connolly clearly doesn't have Melbourne's best interest at heart.
Connolly is no better than Daniher, actually he's worse.

I Voted for Voss but i really rate Gary O'Donnell as a good option seeing as his been an assistant under Sheedy and Matthews. Yer double thumbs up for McLean as Captain, Chris Connolly would have to be the worst choice ever!! He has had only one good year at Fremantle (2006), when you compare there list with ours and look at there positon right now i consider him a Dud and i don't like the old staleness he would bring. We need some1 new,young & fresh.

Someone that hasn't been mentioned a lot is Wayne Carey.

He ticks a few boxes in my opinion:

- Played in a winning team, knows what it takes to win.
- Champion player in his day, which commands respect in my opinion.
- Has had coaching experience (assistant coaching stints at Carlton and Collingwood, under coaches Pagan and Malthouse)
- Has a bit of grouch in him, which is exactly what M.F.C needs in my opinion.
- Has no link to the club, which can make it a little too cosy.
- One of the greatest and most inspiring captains to pull on a pair of boots, so knows how to gain respect and keep it (on the field).
- Is a natural in front of the camera, and has made some very valid points as a commentator and observer.
- May be keener on coaching than some would think, as he has put his hand up to coach the All Stars in the E.J Whitten matches, for the past two seasons.


I know that this may seem a little outside the box, but if M.F.C appointed him as coach next season, I am sure 1,000s would be signing up for their membership, because I reckon he commands respect from the players, has some grunt, has good media skills, and has some experience... and we could do worse in my opinion

McKenna is unproven commodity.

CC on the other hand has proven he can't do anything with what was considered a premiership list 14 weeks ago.

McKenna has had a lengthy apprenticeship with a successful coach who I consider to be a tactical genius and is the pick of the current assistant coaches. I wouldn't want to lose him.
